Hi, I'm new here and I'm not so good in buying console products, can anyone tell me the warranty for Wii Console, WiiFit and Wii Remote? I'm afraid that I have been conned by a console shop here in Prangin Mall, Penang.

After a week, my WiiFit cannot on out of a sudden and I spend it back to the shop, after 2 weeks it came back and the staff there charged me RM50 for the repairs and said warranty for accessories like WiiFit is only one week. In addition, I bought a battery pack for WiiFit and they said there is no warranty for it too, it's total bullshit as I know all electronic products have warranty, it's not reasonable to have a week warranty but at least 3 months.

So can someone please tell me whether am I conned?

PS: The shop is located in 3rd floor Prangin Mall (G Electronic & Electrical) near the 3rd floor steamboat shop, opposite Stefeno.

Check your accessories to see whether they are original or not. If those OEM made in China one you are out of luck. But I know most if not all UNAUTHORISED reseller will not cover the warranty simply because they are selling modded console that void all warranty. So you aren't conned if you purchase *ahem* modded console. If you bought from authorised reseller, it's your right to get warranty.

Live with it, third party battery pack got no warranty since they are from China without any proper brand or company.

You really should have asked them before you buy. Normally when I buy electronic stuff, I ask them about warranty then they will write the warranty period on the receipt.

By law I think every seller has to provide at least 1 month warranty on all electric and electronic items. You can check with consumers association.

Anyway most game shops provide either 1 week or no warranty for accessories. So I don't think they were really out to con you.

Can any sifu here clarifies a bit because I may get a Wii in December for my son as Christmas present.

Normally shop will give you 3weeks warranty. Keep the receipt will do.
