Hi guys,

I have a CM690 and decided to pump in around RM150-200 to give it some blinks.

The casing is stock, with 3 fans.

This is what I plan to do

1)Replace the side fan with some CM blue fan

2)Replace the rear fan with this NuclearTec 120mm UV LED Silent Fan
user posted image

3)Change all the sleeve of my Silverstone ST56F to UV sleeves - will this void the warranty?
4) Get UV light tube - any brand to suggest? Do I need 1 or 2?

5) Put that 2 replaced CM fans on top of the casing

How much would the above roughly cost? You guys got any further suggestions?

Around 100?

Thanks smile.gif

3/ yes warranty void...so instead of changing...just sleeve OVER the current sleeves. if need to claim warranty..just remove the UV sleeves.

4/ recommend to get 2.

How do I exactly 'hook' the tube in place? Is there some PCI bracket or use double sided tape?

Do I put both tube down? Or one top one bottom, or one bottom one side?

Added on August 24, 2009, 5:38 pmWhat brand should I go for the tube?

the tubes usually come with velcro...

top n bottom is the common placements...but u should experiment which suits u best..

almost any brand is fine...

Got it, now as for sleeving, I can sleeve over ordinary SATA cable instead of getting UV sata cables right?

Added on August 24, 2009, 11:02 pmGuys, is it advisable, to have 2 tubes?

1 UV tube to illuminate UV parts, and another to simply illuminate the whole casing?

yes u can sleeve sata cables..

if 2 types of tubes (aka UV & color) then no.

the color ccfl will most likely overpower and kill off the UV effect. so ur stuff wont glow as much or at all..

the thing with playing UV is if u want ur stuff to glow nicely...then the only source of light should be from the tubes only. even UV LEDs from UV LED Fans could disrupt it. which is why i cut off the LEDs from my UV LED fans when i was still in the UV phase last time heheheh

but if u use UV LED fans + UV tubes only should not be much of a problem la...coz theyre both still in the same light spectrum.

use a punch hole thing and punch circles out and stick to each fan blade
