Lots of tiny joints for the exaggerated action poses... fingers crossed that they won't wear out otherwise the whole body will sag badly. The graffiti decals are absolutely horrendous - who the heck designed them?

Puny gatling becomes uglier with the nipped off noozles, and still looks puny compared to giant gatlings of the Gundam 6th unit and Gouf Custom.

NG proportions > MG, but loses totally in articulation.

You prolly get better off with a NG blue frame and mod the mobility for posing purpose. Like 03 00078 said, after you get a nice pose and display it ... you prolly wont be moving it much.

the look & & the details of coz. it looks like it has its own strength. dalong review only show comparison on both standing straight. try compare side by side while do extreme action pose. i think the mg will look better, more menacing & brutal. the ng now look like regular grunt suit only for me.

People have their rights to complain.

Aesthetics is purely subjective.

It's like why people keep complaining about MG Hi-Nu, although it looks fine to me. People just hate that it's not as bulky as the initial artwork.

To me, this MG ABF2L looks almost as good as PG ARF. wub.gif

From Dalong, they reviewed that the joints are stiff and ok. Only problems are the front skirts keep popping out and the weak ankle joints adopted from MG Exia.

the blue frame NG ankle cannot pose at all unless remove the ankle guard which look ugly without it.

Itu la, as i said, if the body and legs are bulky macam Mk-II, fuih... mantap.

At any rate, I'd wait for Red Frame whistling.gif
meanwhile praying i'd get to reserve the MG Unicorn and Strike Freedom whistling.gif

Unless you are aiming for Code Geass/00-like poses where the mecha does leg splits, the NG Blue Frame's articulation isn't really too far off from the MG. Having said that, my 1/100 Blue Frame's ankles are very loose that it'll collapse spontaneously. The upper limb and backpack joints are far too weak to support the backpack, so hopefully these are issues that the MG would have resolved.

But of course, aesthetics are subjective. Many people loved the MG Impulse for the sleek design and extravagant poses, but for me I still prefer the chunky look of the original lineart.

MG Hi-Nu's redesign invited loads of flak as it shed the bulkiness for Seed-like proportions, and although I prefer the old Izubuchi design I couldn't care less for the Hi-Nu because I prefer the asymmetrical look of the Nu plus I couldn't afford the MG HiNu tongue.gif

The lesson is, if you like the design, go for it... Don't bother about what we say. After all, Bandai can't please everybody.

Most of the gundams in anime looks ok...
When bandai makes them a model kit.. a lot of them looks much nicer..
I never like impulse but the model kit is very nice...
same goes to Strike, i find it normal but the Pg version is so much nicer...
well, that's just my 2 cents

Yup. Kinda sad that people usually don't appreciate the enhancements Bandai has done on the robot designs.

People keep comparing Bandai with conversion kits' overly-done details and blocky muscles.

I mean, price by price, it's not fair to compare them.

in the anime, if lots of line to show details are done, all mecha will look weird. we can't say that PG strike have exactly the same details as in anime. in the anime, the make it looks simpler, reduce overcrowded looks mecha. when it comes to the plastic modelling, manifacturer try to make them looks cool by adding more details. so, basically, PG and MG, bandai try to improve the overall design by adding more details, they sure don't want to make MG BF2R as its NG1/100 siblings, then people will complain that, better buy NG1/100 as they ar almost the same design i'd say..
just an opinion from junior here.. hehe..

Exactly!

Don't know why most people in this forum find MG ABF2L not appealing. The guys over at ZeroG were more enthusiastic about this MG's release though.

Guess beauty IS in the eye of the beholder tongue.gif
