Hi, I have been building many Gundams and I wish to know about the Gundam ABS plastic durability... For most Gundam modelers, it would be a nightmare if the plastic suddenly turns from black colour plastic to white(signs of cracking) due to connecting parts together or accidentally bending them...So if the plastic did turn white but it hasn't crack or break yet, will it last forever like other plastic parts or will it eventually break?I wish that any Gundam modelers will help answer cause its kinda bothering me for quite a long time now...>.< Thanks.

since those ABS joint are hidden under the armor u will hardly notice.... just that if you leave it too long it becomes so tight its like it is jammed....
As for PC joint..... after a few playing and possing it will most likely become so loose until it cannot pose at all.

Dreamcast is actually a recast brand...
from what my friend told me, recast brands use originals(neograde,VP) and modified a little or more and then recast it to avoid trademarks or something like that from the big brands...
for the price, i am not sure whether they are similar anot..

Hope the finishing is acceptable.Because i was get the unicorn gatling gun resin part b4 n the finishing really so disappointed to me.

So even if the plastic turn white(no cracks yet) and is connected to its parts, it won't break?What if the plastic is bended accidentally(turn white) and is straight connected to its parts?It won't break too?>.< Very worried cause my PG 00 got few parts turn white when i straight build it.Only the ABS plastic parts turn white.

haha well actualy most of the time i buy resin recast version only due to the original was sold off long before even i started the kits.

well as i can say if you want to play with resin kit you need to be very experience on it especially your basic modeling skill as well as your coloring skill. with out those 2 skill achived. I recommended you stick to the plastic for now. Or you may end up wasting your time, money and your material as well.

other thing i like to point out is when you buy any resin kit no matter wat brand ( recast or original) you need to place your luck on the casting manufactering company. because even the original casting also have few defact parts (properlly very rare case) but mostly of the original company can replace for you in no time due to the reputation but for other recasting company you may face alot of defact parts.

example like my current project sazabi conversion kit from neograde was recast by hobbyfans and I can say the quality casting is lucky quite ok with it but I need to also fully recorrect every inch of the surface and panel ling to get my sastifactory desire. This is also due to I also delay this project for a year to improve my modeling skill.

as you can see those quality casting is really nice but also need a lot of touch up to make it better and smooth.

and here is the result of a year experince i had so able to achive this result.



so in conclusion. learn the basic skill before trying out the advance type of modeling. learn to walk 1st before can run.

No, it's not made from paper. It's the MG Strike + IWSP kit with thick lining.

It'll break. If the joints fit too tightly and you move/twist/pose them, it'll break. Happened to my MG IJ and SF, the parts connecting the legs to the waist. See my sig for the broken parts.

My MG Sinanju seems to be heading in the same direction, so i'm not gonna change his pose anymore.

So the best way is to build it then leave it alone?I do know model kits usually not for playing.But I was just worried that even if u leave it alone,will it still break after a long time?I think ABS plastic is quite tough.It will be a shock if Japan uses plastic which could break easily.....>.<

Hey guys.. had asked this question elsewhere but no good solution yet..

May I know where can get the resin cast that can create resin kit?

I mean those solution/liquid that come with 2 bottles need to mix up by certain ratio and pour into cast to form the resin kit.

I've checked Multifilia but no stock. Anywhere else? Any gunpla shop or even hardware shop?

Chris, thanks for your advice..i try to improve more my skills before i start my sinanju resin kits.So far thats not much details n parts for the sinanju resin kits .so hope its under handle for my skills.
Beside that, i like you sazabi .. Its really cool.... possible i hope my skills later can be improve to build my sazabi as yours.

no problem... i am planning to get the shinanju conversion kit as well.. still thinking about it.. hehe...
Just don't put so high hopes on all the recast.. it also depends on luck

hmm... you could try ask tkting.. i know he do recast but don't know whether he sells them...

what chris said is true... resin kits are not for beginners, you'll need plenty of practices and experience in order to achieve a nice kit...
