Q Which is the best harddisk for quality and reliability now? What is the best size for the price now? I will be using the harddisk as a second harddisk to store files with huge size. Will the type of harddisk affect how fast I load those big files?
Hello there, well personally I think that Western Digital Hard Disks has a better rep than Seagate as the recent firmware problems has randomly shut down many 1 TB HDD's and corrupting the data in it and me myself has a problematic 250GB Seagate Drive. So I opted for WD HDD instead and has been satisfied with its performance till date Q As for DVD, which is the best brand for quality and price? I'll be using the DVD to burn video to be played on the DVD player to watch on TV. Which is the best brand/type of DVD for that purpose? Buying in big bundle will be cheaper?i used LG and have been using it since June 07 and up till now no problem =),What do you mean buying in bundle ? Theoretically it should be but it depends on the seller
Q I might be buying DVD RW to store certain files as well, which is the best brand for DVD RW? How many times can I rewrite those DVD RW?There are no certain number of limits that you need to follow. As for me personally I think that rather than having to burn the data many times on a piece of DVD.Now just picture the DVD-RW disks is like a tyre..after lotsa use,it'll be worn out rite ? IMHO its better to store in a 2.5 HDD since you mentioned constant rewriting of data. Its better and faster to use a cheap external drive Yea, I have been using WD as my HDD and external HDD since last year, so far no problem, guess I'll go back to WD again this time. Thanks a lot.

WD Green 1TB = RM289 (Lower power consumption)
WD Black 1TB = RM340 (Higher power consumption, superior performance)
WD Green 808GB = RM239
WD Green/Blue 640GB= RM204 (Try to get the blue one, performance is closer to Black)
What type of 'huge size' file are you talking about? Uncompressed 10 Bit HD video for editing?
WD Black only goes up to 1TB? How about other type of WD HD not listed by you? They aren't worth it?
If I buy one WD Black 1TB now, in the future, I can raid it by buying another 1TB WD Black?
About the huge size files, yea it's those recorded HD video files.
So what's the cheapest WD Black that I can find in LYP now? I checked the pricelist in hardwarezone.com.my and the chepest I found so far is RM333 by Cycom? Any shop selling cheaper than that?
