been battling dark circles since my teen years.... unfortunately the truth is it comes down to genetics...
Of cos, to start of with drinking lots of water and having enough sleep... Dark circles look worse if you have bags to go with it... unfortunately i have that too... not drinking too much water at nite and some cold bags of tea or cucumber in the morn helps a tiny bit, but in essence, something cold with constrict the skin and make your bags less apparent... Only way to really remove bags - go for cosmetic surgery to remove excess skin under your eyes when you're hitting your 30s or 40s. No products can save your bags, it's just plain genetics.. Concealer will be your best friend First concealer I tried many years ago was the Clinique Pen thingy (cant remember name anymore) was alrite, need retouching (used this for few years) Then experimented with a few but these never stuck with me Maybeline yellow corrector stick (so cakey) Loreal True match (too watery, does nothing, color shades are off) Stila - if u love obvious creases Mac - doesnt last long, just brightens but still can see purplish shade of dark circle Stage - Almost like a MAC rip-off. Works almost as well but not quite.. results will show Estee Lauder - So-so, can't cover as well as Bobbi. Bobbi Brown until recently - Used this for the last 5 years. Corrector is key, hide the circle then use a concealer shade which is not too white looking for ur face. only wished they have customizable palette to put both corrector n concealer + loose powder altogether than carrying a few jars around. They had one palette like 5, 6 or 7 years ago which has corrector, concealer, foundation, loose powder n a mini brush with puff. Wish they do that again. Only drawback- a few steps.. wish i can just dab smth n be done... A bit rich, will crease a tiny bit towards end of the day. Will need touch up but not as often as some I tried Now experimenting with Benefit Boi ing - Impressive I must say.. I've shunned so many concealers over the last 10 years. Boi ing mimics the yellow undertone that Bobbi Brown shades has so it compliments ur skin. It doesnt cake up at all and it covers so well without a corrector. No wonder it's called Industrial Strength.... Only thing is that you prob need to puff some loose powder on it to make it stay.. wish it was bit cheaper though.... Can compete with Bobbi Brown's which I have been so loyal to for many years! Anyone else tried Cle de Peau is amazing but I don't know where I can get it here and heard it's pricey too. Any experiences? This post has been edited by pupluv81: Aug 10 2010, 07:11 PM |

i still have not figure out which product can cure dark circles.. but i can tell u which product that i have used which is not useful so you do not have to waste your money to purchase them. so far, i have tried nivea eye cream and Garnier Dark Eye Circle pen. Both of them can't cure the dark eyes circle. But, i love the garnier's pen
For temporary, you can try the eye mask. after using it, it slightly lighten the dark circles and no puffy eyes! =) |

QUOTE(pupluv81 @ Aug 10 2010, 07:10 PM) been battling dark circles since my teen years.... unfortunately the truth is it comes down to genetics... I'm also one of the fans of Bobbi Brown. I'm using Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit for many years. I love this product because it includes Creamy Concealer on top and Sheer Finish Loose Powder on bottom to set concealer for long-lasting wear. Moreover, I can find a shade that makes my skin tone fairly close.Of cos, to start of with drinking lots of water and having enough sleep... QUOTE(pupluv81 @ Aug 10 2010, 07:10 PM) been battling dark circles since my teen years.... unfortunately the truth is it comes down to genetics... What Pupluv81 said is right on the mark, unfortunately for a lot of us dark circles are a genetic tendency, and getting enough sleep and drinking water can only do so much... The skin underneath our eyes is more thinner than the rest of the face therefore it shows through the darkness from underneath more obviously. I have used a basic moisturising eye cream every day for years, just to keep the skin its best, but concealer is really my best friend. I have tried many and havnt found 'the one' yet. I cant afford to buy too expensive ones with the risk that it wont work well for me. I have tried: -Revlon Age Defying Spa concealer - the coverage is smooth and natural looking but the lasting power is not that strong -Revlon colorstay concealer - very good coverage, good colour for me, VERY long lasting, however sometimes it can look 'cakey' (helps if you really moisturise well before) - Recently purchased Garnier Roll on anti-dark circles (this one), i'm very disappointed. the coverage is too light so it doesnt cover well, and the fairest colour is too dark for me. I feel so disappointed by all the money i've wasted over the years searching for the perfect product, I think ill just alternate between the two revlon ones. |

just some sharing, recently bought an taiwan brand eye cream from a forum. There are many good review so i give it a try, had been used it for one week.
my dark eye circle, eye back and fine line problem is not severe, just that when i have not enough sleep, my eyes will look very bad. this whole week i slept quite late and at the same time apply the eye cream, surprisingly my eyes look as fine as i have enough sleep. but not sure if this product will fully cure all my problems or not.. |
