Bros, I'm planning to buy a PSP and planning to go to Lowyat. Just a normal user that want to play games on the plane and in hotel room. Like to play RPG. The more I read this thread, the more pening I become, so :

1) Should I buy PSP2k or 3k?
2) what should I look for for either model?
3) What about the freebies that they should offer.
4) Price range ????

Please help.

Guys, at last bought my first PSP (2006 @ firmware 3.90 M33-3) from garage sales this afternoon after few weeks of asking people this and that. Going to a shop tomorrow to upgrade my firmware and need help :

1) Is 5.00 M33-3 the latest? Is this the max I can go?
2) Good memory card @8 Gb?
3) Where can I download the manual ?
4) AV cable got different or not between 3 vs 5 kepalas?
5) Any recommendation for a good carrying pouch/bag?

Appreciate your help.

1) If you're talking about the M33 firmware, then yes, 5.00M33 is the latest. But the most recent patch for it is 5.00M33-6. If you're talking about custom firmwares in general, there are newer firmwares like 5.50GEN and MHU firmwares. 5.00M33-6 is more than good though smile.gif Also, there's no such thing as the "max" point for custom firmwares/official firmwares unless Sony stops developing firmwares. It'll keep growing till the point Sony gets fed up lol tongue.gif

2) Um, buying an original stick wouldn't really be an option as it would be pretty darn expensive. Really unreasonable. You can buy a fake stick, but when you use fake sticks, chances of it getting corrupted is pretty darn high. Also, you may experience a couple of lags when browsing through the contents of your memory stick in a system. IE : PSP, PC etc.

3) Manual, go to the Playstation official website.

4) No idea, not a slim user here. tongue.gif

5) Pouch, really you ought to check them out and see which one suits you best. Some may like big and bulky ones that can store lots of stuff like UMDs(with covers) etc, whereas others may prefer small and sleek looking ones just to keep a UMD or two and maybe a memory stick. It's all up to you.

@acc10, updates are free, do it yourself...don't bother going to shop to update it smile.gif
Lacus, want to do it myself but since this is my first time, will let the shop do it. Don't forsee that I will upgrade/downgrade that often unless I really need it. Maybe future updates will try it myself. Thanx for the advice.

Geng, got my PSP2k updated with 5.50 gen-b last Wed, got new 8gb as well with ample of games. One thing I notice is that starting on Friday, there are few (3 or 4) vertical lines around width 1mm visible on the screen. You do not notice it if you play the game but when the screen turns to plain color, it's visible.

Is this due to hardware or soft(firm)ware?
