Featuring leading publishers from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Singapore and Malaysia, the consumer fair will showcase Asia’s best and latest collection of both Chinese and English titles.

BookFest @ Malaysia is organised as a platform to showcase millions of books by local and international authors as well as exhibiting an exemplary range of the latest stationery products. More than hundreds of publishing houses, books and stationery distributors from all over the Asian region will set up their products and display them within the 500 prearranged booths.

Deemed as one of the largest book exposition held in the region, the book exposition is co-organised by Sin Chew Media Corporation and MCA Community Education Development Bureau (Lifelong Learning). Whilst, major participating countries of the event include Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and United Kingdom.

To date, the main venue of BookFest @ Malaysia is held at one of Malaysia’s prominent
“state-of-the-art” Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) site, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). The consignment covers an area of approximately 100,000 square feet.

The mega book exposition is conducted within a period of 10 days in parallel with the school holidays. To complement the event, a series of fun-filled and exciting activities such as concerts, performances, contests as well as meet-the-author-sessions are planned throughout.

The inaugural BookFest @ Malaysia which commenced in 2006 witnessed 320,000 visitors. The following year, it welcomed an overwhelming crowd which passed that benchmark and exceeded 400,000 visitors. In 2008, the annual event had proven to be yet another successful exposition with figures close to half a million.
