Have you considered using USPS Postal Service's International flat rate box? You can send things which can be at any weight as long as it fits in the box for about $40 or $50 dollars (don't quite remember, but it's around there) and it's insured automatically for $100 - you can add the value of insurance by paying a little bit more.
