Hi guys,

recently bought an edifier M3300 2.1 speakers and I have a Dell inspiron N4030 laptop which i found out later that it has IDT HD sound driver. My problem is that i cannot select a 2.1 system other than stereo under speakers property in the control panel>sound. after searching on the web and I've found out that that driver does not support surround sound hence can't detect any other speakers except only limited to two stereo speakers. I have heard of uninstalling the driver and put in a 3rd party driver. will it work? i don't wanna further "break" my laptop. Please and thanks!
