I got the new 7566 direct from Dell online, the highest specs i7, 256ssd + 1tb HDD, 8gb RAM, UHD IPS Anti-glare, and the usual GTX 960m 4GB GDDR5. Only Black colour is available for the UHD.
In terms of normal use like 1080p Youtube and movie, not much noise. Only when editing/play back 4K contents the fans start to kick in intermittently. I mean not always in turbo mode like when playing demanding games.
I recently bought a laptop cooling pad with double 14mm fans. Initially I thought it won't decrease the laptop heat significantly. Oh boy...I was wrong. At least now with the cooling pad, editing/playing 4K contents won't make the laptop heat up easily.
As for game, I've yet find the time to download and install games from my Steam libraries. My guess is that it won't differ much from 7559. But I will try to play games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, GTA 5, etc. to judge.
And about the screen, many people say the 7566 with the 1080p version has a TN display. That if half true. If you direct order from DELL, the latest batch uses the IPS panel for the 1080p display. This is confirmed by someone working inside Dell Malaysia. I said half true because some people might buy from somewhere else and ending up with the TN display batch. And the backlight for the Malaysia version is white, not Red as advertised in the Dell Malaysia website. Misleading...
No WiFi issue. I updated the Win 10 Pro, BIOS, and other drivers to the latest the first thing.
I'm wondering if you guys use any external cooling solutions or just depends on the laptop's internal cooling?

QUOTE(covansys solution @ Jan 5 2017, 08:59 AM) well the i5 is TN panel.. i7 is IPS.. ur unit get hot fast becoz the UHD.. the fhd not much heating issue.. around 70-80 when gaming... Could be. Although they claim it's all IPS for the 7566. Need to scale down to 1080p when gaming even on the UHD, since GTX960m can't do 4K with playable FPS. The UHD drains the battery quicker than the FHD.

QUOTE(shirogawawa @ Jan 5 2017, 03:32 PM) not true, those display issue, depends on batch produce by Dell ODM factory , not by retailer nor dell online malaysia I guess I should take the words of the one I dealt with in Dell with a grain of salt. Although the one I dealt with in Dell Penang said and confirm the new build (Dec 2016) is IPS for FHD and UHD. But when I check in Dell Malaysia, they did not state clearly whether the FHD is IPS or TN. Only the UHD version has a clear spec that it is an IPS.

QUOTE(mirzazafran @ Jan 8 2017, 01:13 AM) Hi guys. Dell 7566 owner here. Just bumped into this thread haha I wonder if it's worth it to trade in my laptop for a base 7567. GTX 1050 not much difference but it's very tempting.... In my opinion, 1050 is not worth it. Even though it is pascal, like you said, not much difference from 960m. And so does the 7th gen cpu. Better skip this 100 series gpu and save up for a better gpu in a year or two. By then, probably Dell already improved the whole design of the 7000 gaming series. It's a better deal rather than lose money just for sake of the marginal improvement from 960m to 1050 and from 6th gen cpu to 7th gen cpu.
