QUOTE(bibbyGirl @ Oct 20 2009, 03:05 AM) thinking of getting the 11z since it is not much bigger than dell mini10 I don't have the model in question, but I've seen Photoshop being run on a CULV processor before. Describing it as smooth would be somewhat of a stretch.my concern is the SU1400 processor..can it even run stuff like photoshop cs4 smoothly? im not using it for doing any work..just wondering anyone who got it pls give review |

QUOTE(lchan @ Oct 20 2009, 10:42 AM) why would people think SU4100 is weak? Its just mind boggling. and those even trying to compare it with Atom and NEO is even beyond understanding. The SU4100 is so much more powerful then my bloody sempron 64 desktop at home which i think it bloody fast still. Because it is weak when compared to plenty of other processors out there. Discounting stuff that are already outdated, or three thirds of the way there. |

QUOTE(lchan @ Oct 21 2009, 03:05 PM) But what are you comparing it with. You have to see the whole product packaging. Sure you can buy the alienware laptop that will blow most desktop, but what is the point of lugging around something so rediculously big? Even the 14" laptops are being pushed to its limits currently, and CULV have really came and change the packaging of laptops, for example as seen on the acer timeline series. I never once said that the Inspiron 11z should pack more of a punch. I was merely stating that the Atom processor alone is rather weak in comparison to other processors that sport higher TDPs, think Merom. Technically, you sacrifice overall performance for battery longevity. Again, I didn't take size of any sort into account. How can you say discounting outdated stuff or three third (??? 2/3 or 3/4) of the way there. Just a year and half, you need to pay six grand to get a ULV based laptop. Todays, its half that price. That in it self is progress. What then do you expect them to put into a 11.6" laptop that is 1 inch thick? A P8700 cpu with HD4670 gfx? you have to be realistic. And realisticly, it is packaged for mobility, with processing power way sufficient for basic computing work to photoshop to HD content, yet providing a low power consumption product. By discounting outdated stuff I was referring to much older processors such as the legacy Celeron line-up. And the three thirds was a typo. It should have been two. |

QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 26 2009, 11:56 AM) "Maximum physical CPUs supported" Physical means the actual processor, not on die cores. Server boards tend to run multiple CPUs and thus need the Professional or Ultimate/Enterprise versions. Rest assured all consumer grade systems only utilize a single, physical processor. What does this mean? The Starter and Premium can support only 1 whereas the Prof and Ult can support 2 |

QUOTE(lchan @ Oct 28 2009, 01:54 PM) can someone explain if windows 7 home premium comes only in 64 bit? Cause dell is giving home premium 64 bit??? There is a 32 bit version. If you want that, then try calling Dell to customize your model before purchasing. This post has been edited by Loki[D.d.G]: Oct 28 2009, 06:03 PM |

QUOTE(chamelion @ Nov 2 2009, 04:40 PM) guy dont get the 6 battery unless u are ok with protrude battery. the 3 cell will look like normal netbook where as 6 cell will have 20cm x 2 cm protrude at bottom. You shouldn't be posting the bolded part here. btw selling mine rm 1800. new one selling rm2.19k open to check dead pix only. reason to sell: i am using m4400 highest spec, this kiddo too slow for me. pm me. In response to your first part, I find that protruding batteries are oddly convenient. What with it propping up the notebook at a favorable angle and all that. Kinda like keyboard feet. |

QUOTE(bibbyGirl @ Dec 9 2009, 03:27 PM) just call them Within the first two weeks of your purchase, you can return your Dell product for a full refund as stated here. I would call them back and ask about that if I were you.they said there are no such exchange policy and they said they cant do anything to exchange the battery for me because my purchase i more than 1 week. they even ask me to buy an extra 3 cells what next? |
