i had used once fujitsu laptop before (when i part time my boss one), a very old one, but still can function well for work stuff. i also no familiar with this brand, if you interested, go check where its service center, i scare it is limited in malaysia

ram is no very important aspect when you buying a laptop since it can be upgrade later.

Any cons about the processor? The screen is fine, I have an external display ready. Also it's on sale for 1.8k, good enough?

Ah okay, just confirming. I'm really clueless about laptops. I hope that 2Core 4Threads can do my jobs with ease.

My Inspiron 14R 5447 just came in today, looks very sleek & simple, loving the design of it.
So far I've only tried playing h264 720 & 1080p + flac, hi10p 720p & 1080p + flac videos, they all have butter smooth playback on VLC.
Will try to play BDISO on it when I have time, and run some games if I can.

Finally got myself some free times to do real usage review. But I'm not really a fan of benchmarking programs so I'll just test whatever I'm doing/using. biggrin.gif
I couldn't really bench programs but based on my usage, this notebook totally can handle multitasking pretty well. It will be on production soon enough to see whether it really can handle it or not.

So far, the only cons that pretty severe to me is built-in battery, thus non really long lifespan of batteries since I'll have to keep it plugged in whole time. Less severe probably the optical drive & 5400RPM HDD, but who needs optical drive nowadays , and for the power saving HDD, it's not a big deal I think, slower boot time but whatever .
No problem with videos playback, able to play anything from 720p to 1080p smoothly.

Design wise, it looks pretty cool in Red colour, mix between black & red really brings it out.The air intake are at the bottom of the laptop, out takes is in weird place.. it's placed right under the screen. Stereo speakers, placed in front under palm rest. 3x USB 3.0, 1x HDMI, Card readers, that's all for external ports.

The unboxing is really.. boring I'd say, there's just a box & laptop with charger, nothing else.
Temperature, I got it to 80C while playing Diablo 3 somewhere that have bad air flow place, but its only that one time, in my room it stays under 70c full load & 35-40c idle.

Price, for RM1700? for this kind of performance? Damn good deal I'd say.

Portability, just <2kg, everyday I'm carrying 2-3 Kgs of textbook, not a big deal to me. I haven't try using the laptop until it ran out of battery though, might will do soon.
