even though both are 1.5L, but still cant compare them directly...

a nice mini suv vs. a pasar malam mpv is like penang curry mee vs. southern awful pan mee...

Yup i agree we cant directly compare both cars as they are from different segment. Regardless they have the same engine. Quoting a very simple example is can we directly compare a Satria Neo 1.6 CPS to a Waja 1.6 CPS ? They have the same engine but diff segment cars too.

Rush is mini SUV
Avanza is mini MPV

Well for starters, Rush is more comfortable than to Avanza. Avanza is like a stripped down budget version that has the space of a mini MPV. Good for getting from point A to B while Rush is more refined with better driving experience and enjoyable rides. So it up to the TS's requirement to which segment car suit them.

Since it has the same engine, then lets go to the curb weight for both cars.

Rush is 1170 kg
Avanza is 1130 kg

I think the FC should be around the same, have to wait until the actual owners to input on this then lol.

Rush FC is about 16 cents/km. RM 1.80 per liter.
That's about 75% B road, the rest town driving.

Not too sure about avanza. I think it should be about the same, since running on same engine, i bet gearbox should also hv same ratio.

Avanza 20k cheaper. More value for $$

my 1.3 van auto can go for ~400kms for ~rm60
that's probably about 15cents/km

70% town, 30% highway

For me Rush is just a repackaged Avanza with new styling fascia and interior. The underneath is just same engine, same ladder frame chasia. tongue.gif

Platform is platform and chasis is chasis. Dun mix them up, Platform basically is the floorpan which includes the engine and suspensions. Chasis is the metal shell and extra compartment that we sit in it plus the platform. So both of them share the same platform but diff chasis. That explains why Avanza had a horrible ride experience compared to Rush even they have the same platform.

Avanza's ride is not that bad. It's bumpy cuz it's design to carry some load. 7 persons is a little too much, but it can take 6 easily with comfort.
Avanza and Rush both using coil spring. No leaf spring here.

Rush has harder suspension compare to Avanza. If Rush is not loaded with at least 4 persons, it's bumpy. Avanza is a little more forgiving.
