Btw, just to ask if you are able to help some malaysians to coordinate a GW2 CE pre-purchase from EB Games and send to Malaysia.
*
The last time i ordered a CE edition game from EB Games Australia, it was nothing but massive problems. Back then I ordered 4 CE editions of WoW catalcysm from them, for myself and friends. I opened up the box to check if everything was there, and 3 out of 4 of them did not have the CDKEY inside. So i took them back to the store, and asked them for replacements.

thats where the S*** hits the fan, they would not provide us with replacement products and told us that, the issue was by the distributors. So i called up the distributors and told them the issues, and they pushed me back to EB games, vice versa for 4 times, and got so fed up, and just blasted at the distributor. Which in the end the management called EB games to settle the issue. In the end after a day, the distributors called me and provided me the keys, and told me he would resend a replacements (DVD with key) to me, until now I have not received the physical product replacement.

So I suggest that you might want to find other stores or region that can help. Perhaps QVS itself not EB. Also, isn't it more expensive to get it from AUS compared to the States at the moment?

**edit: if i wanted to get a CE edition i never ordered from EB ever, usually other stores that provide them.

Nitro do you guys accept members without facebook accounts?
*
Hi guys,

I'm the guild leader of Aggroculture. I'm hardly on these forums, but just so happen to drop by.
Yes, we accept members with and without facebook accounts. There are other forms of communication, such as ventrilo, MSN .. etc
Though it would be nice to just create a dummy account just to see whats happening in the our Aggroculture FB group. Don't have to create if you don't want to.

We can talk this out, just drop me your contact info (MSN, if you have or which ever).

Someone messed up in Arenanet, whoever has the beta client still, and are pre-purchasers, you can now get in the game to play for a while. Which is meant to be a stress test NDA.

Nah, they wont ban you or anything. Anet messed up and mentioned on the tech support beta forums.

It was meant to be an NDA invitation for stress test, but since they themselves admitted to messing it up it wasn't an NDA invitation. That saying, yeah I was invited for a 6hours stress test with several other players. Funny part is, we all couldn't play for about 1 hour, until someone noticed that they could log in on pre-purchasers. So when i tried it myself, i got all my pre-order housemates to play, was a blast.

You'd be surprised how many people it was, and they got their "Stress test" alright... + the devs were in the game play with us, and they said they cant do anything about it with the mistakes now. Heck even 2 of them was in the ascalon catacomb in my random PUG grp.

Have to say it was worth it, and someone mentioned about LAG and FPS... well, for the latency, I hardly did not feel any problems with latency, everything was smooth and pvp was playable. As for FPS, i think they need to optimize their highest setting feature, because I'm just getting around 30-60fps at times on SLI 680s, which i'm just guessing its not SLI optimized yet either.

Other than that, it was an awesome 6 hours luck of fun.

I couldn't find the latency info.. and also even if I would to provide it to you,... it would be an Aussie-to-US latency.. heh.

Eh I'm not playing in malaysia, I'm in australia using Internode.

Nitro is my representative to help recruit any interested Guild Wars 2 players in SEA region and Lowyat. The guild name "Aggroculture" is described between "Aggro" and "culture" If you know the meaning of Aggro (in order words aggressive, or MMO terms threat/problem makers, but of course not drama makers sleep.gif) , then you're likely to get a proper understanding joining both the words. This guild was originally made by a senior member in WoW and Everquest, and remnants of members from CO, Celestial Order, but we had not use the guild name during other mmos, as majority of us were in other games as well. I, took the permission from our senior to use it as a representative name for our guild for Guild Wars 2. If you have not read what he posted it before, I'll paste it here for you. (damn nitro, he was suppose to handle this for me XD) :

"From GL of Aggroculture,

Hello, hope you guys are having the excitement of your life time pre-purchasing the game, XD and waiting for it. I'm here on behalf of NitroLancer to announce to any GW2 players that we, Aggroculture are recruiting a few more members for our cause.

Aggroculture is a Guild Wars 2 guild that consist of members who are mainly South East Asia and Oceania (though i'm in Aus, studying at the moment..).
We are a guild that consist of competitive and casual players who PVP/PVE together for many years.
We are long-time gaming friends and real life friends who are looking forward to joining together in GW2.

Majority of our members are experienced gamers from many other games stretching from MMO - FPS - RTS. We're a combination of experienced MMO players from World of Warcraft, Guildwars, Aion, Rift, Everquest, Swtor (currently playing to waste time, and killing boring republics), and many other MMOs in the past and of coure we have new players who dipped their feet into MMO for the first time.(That said, majority are PVP players and 75% are competitive)

Our job is to provide the members a community with competitive and casual gameplay together and perform with a high level of consistency involvement in Guild Wars 2. We challenge ourselves to be better than the others in PVP and we push ourselves to succeed in PVE. We are not ones who hunt for fame and fortune, but to push ourselves to the limit in forms of teamwork, tactics and skills. We put quality over quantity and we don't like bragging about it, being incognito is the way to go.

We are planning to limit about 30-35 members in the guild, as it is easier to handle, (Less drama and conflict).Remember, this guild was created for friends who have played together for many years. If you are interested to join, we are glad to have you. Give us time to get to know you, as you would to us. If you're new to MMOs we are there to help, teach and make you a better player. If you're a veteran, we are always happy and grateful to gain knowledge and experience.

To all GW2 players, you are free to join us, and bring your friends too. This is the time to get to know each other, this is time to share knowledge and information and this is the time for us to prepare. There is no region restriction to joining us.

We do not have a website nor a forum, that is because we find it irrelevant to maintain as it is more suited to larger guilds with extremely active members from many game genre fields. We feel that the Facebook group is sufficient.

You'll probably be asking why a Facebook Group/Page?
Aggroculture members consist of close friends, friends and long-time gaming friends. We have known each other for years. Most of us are facebook connected with each other and have used Facebook as a medium of communication. We believe that using Facebook's Group features allows us to easily communicate and organize events and notices to the rest of the people who are in the guild. Notifications arrive to you in many forms, which our current world technology allows information to flow to Facebook embedded technology (Mobile phones, tablets, messenger, etc..). Some of you may feel that privacy could be a problem when using Facebook, rest assure we can come up with other alternatives if we have to, but then again there are other ways to avoid others from breaching them, such as the use of the Privacy system on Facebook or creating another Alias.

There is also another thing that i'd like to point out is that Guild Wars 2 allows multi-guild commitment. However, spending your influence points on the guild is entirely up to you. We allow anyone the right to join any other guild at the same time BUT when it is the time that we need you (PVP,PVE, WvW) and you can make it , we would appreciate that you would serve under our representative flag.

What are we expecting from you?

1. Nothing much, we are open to any players who wish to join us.
2. You dont need to be a legend or super-experienced player.
3. Age is not something we care about. It is you who have to ask yourself how you would like to present to us. It is not us who have the right to change your attitude or personality, but we appreciate a certain level of maturity. That way when conflicts arrive... TAKE IT LIKE A MAN and lets TALK IT OUT. Nevertheless when the time is needed to participate, we expect that you put your "game face" on.
4. Ventrilo is recommended for communication. "

If there is any questions you'd like to ask, I'll try to answer ASAP, when i drop by again. Or you can ask questions at http://www.facebook.com/AggrocultureGW2

It looks pretty empty and not that active at the moment, cause its new, majority of the members who joined are invited into the private facebook group already, talking.
Thats all, see you all soon in GW2

Guild Leader of Aggroculture.

Not quite a big guild, and don't plan to be one, and like you mentioned its very hard to make long term plans and decisions now, as only a few of us have only been in the invited beta. The beta weekends will only help those in the guild to get the feel of the game and the class they wish to play thats all.

Would definitely invite you for some events, (though i don't know you yet, lol, stopped gw 2 years ago, but hey its good to have a fresh start).

KromickoN, wouldnt mind to join u aswell. If only they have like offline single-player mode for us to test. Other games do have those.

As for commitments, I'm one of those who stops playing after few month.
I think I restarted GW, 5-6 times. Specially when they add the expansions.

haha, understand about commitments there... hopefully gw2 will maintain a lengthy playtime for ya.

If this game can make me play 24 hours a day 365 days a year then congratulation, it is an awesome game. We'll see... 2 more months...

75% competitive members? That's scare me =3
*
that 75% percent of members can turn to the 50% of casuals too .. most of us are working adults, (except me, still studying) so we dont have that much of the time. Its just some time of the months, they go hardcore, other than that, back to real life work. So don't be scared, we're all friends with big big ***** cat eyes smile.gif

@agent5 , yeah as the GL, i should and its my responsibility to clear a few things up.

What he said, there's no need to serve under 1 flag. The only thing you wanna think about is where you want to put your most influences points, but thats not a big thing if other members do it!

Boxed editions are collector's edition. The rest are digital downloads. Reducing cost =| , + i think their client is still using the same GW1 mechanism, stream what is necessary. However if you still wish to download one whole shot, just make a shortcut and put -image at the end. Just make sure to remove it when you're playing.

I dont think it will be end of year, im feeling June-August. Maybe they're opening sylvari and asura for the prepurchasers? I mean at level 30 at above every race can level in that area, its just the Asura and Sylvari 1-30 has yet to be shown and tested. So hopefully its opened for us to test.

That I dont know , i'm not a long time lowyat member, i just created an account to answer and recruit interested members in for GW2.

I'm just assuming that maybe because people don't have credit cards, or accounts verified to paypal, or maybe that some people are actually dealing with international sellers, that prefer that specific currency that is best within that region or trading market.

To tell the truth I'm quite worried for what I paid. Will the art-style suit my liking? Will there be extensive character appearance functionality? Market other than broker/auction? Rare items/gears? Awarding events throughout the year? Extra contents for free or need to wait for expansion pack <- OMGGG? Cash shop (actually I wish there is one)?

Not even know where to start. I played range (bow) for years, tired. Recently love to play 2-hand sword (greatsword), maybe I should try something new in GW2 hmm... Not really the kind that like magic and assassino. Too bad that elementalist conjure weapon is limited in charge usage... or I'll go elementalist + greatsword for sure............................. something that out of conventional...  whistling.gif
*
Let me try to help you calm down.. XD

1st, the art style as you know is quite westernize, the character creation itself inside has some asian faces (for humans that is...) Majority of the environment and graphics is westernized has a very brush like art feel. Extensive character appearance is available as they have a City clothes wardrobe and your basic armor wardrobe, as for how fashionable I'm not sure. GW1 did not have an auction house back then, the trade system was mainly flooded in the trade chat, and that was what kept social chat a live, I didnt get a chance to check if there was a auction house there though. Rare items/gears , definitely you gain them through instances, hardmodes, raids and they are unique to you and you can only loot them , others cant ninja (they are tradeable too), there are secret locations that lead to puzzle jumping games, that some say could take an hour or two and will lead you to a boss, and then if you succeed will provide you with a random of nice loots to benefit you.

They also mentioned that gears in gw2 is not overpowered, it has minor increases better than some, that way it could keep PVP balance, they although mentioned that the gears have better appearances.. (steampunk? westernize knight looks? maybe aion armor?) GW2 devs mention that this game through out is the end game content, from the start to beginning and have mention that they will continue to churn out more contents through out, but how fast? that has not been answered yet. If you've played GW1 , they had quite a lot of events, like the moon festival, dragon festival, christmas, halloween, etc etc and it included mini games. Mini games is part of GW2 now, if you go to the city you can initiate some mini games like bar fights, snow ball fights, shoot the pony, protect the cow launcher, "simon says" they have mentioned that they have around 40 mini games in the world at the moment. Back then in GW1, they relied by selling out expansion packs, who knows about this time though... and there is a Cash shop. What it contains? (top left corner of Ui with diamond logo) I dont know.
Heres a link regarding RMT: GW2 Mike O'Brien explains Microtransactions

In Gw2 some specific classes can use multi weapons to change different spells/abilities set, so If you's sick of Bow, you can go with some other weapon sets, you arent suppose to stick to one. For example,

Engineer : Guns, Guns... and more guns... (dual pistol, pistol and shield, Rifle, FLAMETHROWER, bomb, gear kit, Grenandes, elixir guns.., turrets)
Thief : Dual Pistol, Daggers, Dual Axe, Swords, Bow
Elementalist: Dagger, Scepter, Staff (btw, elementalist air attunment with dagger , its like a chick whipping out lightning like whiplash in ironman2)

They all have its unique set of spells for each class, weapon and gear (some being same) too much things to explain and explore, when the beta comes out, you have all the time to try it!
