So logically from what you're saying, players outside from NA/EU can't log in due to the origin of their region?
Given that the game comes in only 2 versions, and in the future with the korena/traiditional chinese versions, Malaysians cant play?
No, that's not what i'm saying. Re-read my previous post. GW2 will come in 2 versions: US and EU.
All other countries that aren't geographically counted as US or EU are grouped into either region by ANet themselves. In the case of Malaysia, it is classed under the US region and hence, players in Malaysia will need to purchase the US version in order to be able to log into GW2.
There are no such things as the Korean/Traditional Chinese versions, only EU and US versions. Language options are built into the client itself as evident from the previous Beta client that was leaked.
Take my situation for example. I am a Malaysian currently studying in Australia. I have purchased the US version because ANet has also put Australia under the US region. This means that with my copy, I am able to log in to GW2 from Australia and when I finish my studies here and go back to Malaysia, I will still be able to log in to GW2 and play because both Australia and Malaysia are grouped under the US version.
If Australia was grouped under the EU version (it's not!) and I go back to Malaysia, I will not be able to log in to GW2 with the copy I bought from Australia. I will need to buy a US version of GW2 to play GW2 in Malaysia.
ANet are still discussing on how to accommodate for people that travel between the regions tied between the EU and US versions but no information has presented itself yet.
