After you run Audyssey or YPAO (for Yammy owners) do you leave the sub level as is or do you run it 'hot' (i.e. add a few more dB). My settings:
Original: -10.0 dB Movies: I add +2.5 dB Music: I reduce -2.5 dB
Just wanna check what settings you all use.

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Aug 17 2009, 10:15 PM) jchong, I normally set the gain on the sub to be ~75dB using a SPL meter. After Audyssey, I normally get the sub level +/- 1dB and leave it at that. I assume you're using the pink noise in the "level calibration" menu of the 876 to set the ~75 dB point? One thing I find is that there's quite a bit of fluctuation in the CM140 reading when it comes to the sub. Do you take the average between the min and max readings?

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Aug 17 2009, 10:39 PM) Sub readings will always fluctuate. I recall that it would be slightly more stable when selecting C slow...Even then the fluctuation when I did was +/-3dB. With C slow, I'm getting fluctuations about +/- 4 dB. Anyway, earlier I did set the sub ~ 75 dB but that was not so satisfying. Hence I run the sub a little bit hotter for added "oomph". Just wondering what preferences fellow forummers have.

QUOTE(megatron007 @ Aug 18 2009, 07:33 AM) same goes to me... after audisi...have to pump up -0 db on SW... but volume on sub remain at 35 What was the original sub level after Audyssey? I assume must be negative dB before you increase until 0 dB?

Checked the levels again last night. After running Audyssey, all the speakers are at 73 dB, with the sub at ~75 dB. After that, I add +2 dB more for the sub.

QUOTE(aiman04 @ Aug 20 2009, 07:45 AM) I read somewhere long time ago, that the .1 LFE channel are always recorded at -10 dB lower to allow extra headroom to the whole mix. However, the DTS/Dolby decoders in the receivers automatically add 10 dB to balance the level. So in the end the SPL meter must read at the same level for all channels including the LFE. Any thoughts?
