oh guys, i heard from you guys some time ago, someone of u brought your alpha (past warranty) to sony service center for change of hand grip plastic. - apparently no charge incurred.. may i know who is it? coz i tried sending my old A100 but they said it will need to be charged, even without changing anything, will charge me RM20.. the service rep said if i got the contact number/ proof of the previous change of parts, then i can get it too..

^ no, the F20 cant be triggered by the F42, but it can work the other way around... the F20 doesnt have an optical receiver..

nickilala: lens does not effect at all, the sensor (both 1.5 crop factor) might.. one's CCD, the other's CMOS.. in terms of noise level, dynamic range, max image resolution

QUOTE(yuenzhi @ Aug 26 2009, 04:23 PM) noob ques here sorry. i recently bought a brand new lens and a flash, the dealer told me that i'll get one year warranty. just wanna know how does a warranty looks like ? a sticker ? a card ? i cant seems to find anything that says one year warranty. but i found application form for extended warranty. personal experience, i sent my A700 for servicing at North Point MV the other day. The warranty proof that they look for is the cash sale receipt that you get from the shop that you bought from.. even the warranty extension card does not count as a proof of purchase... this is the case when you did not register your product online at the website stated above by the others. *i wasted 3 months warranty coz didnt register online within 7 days of purchace T.T so instead of 15 mths, i only got 12 mths from date of purchase*

its all about marketing, tease you people with awesome low ends without any news of higher end ones, then when market is full of new lower ends, then POW! introduction of much better mid range bodies at prices that are hard to resist forcing those with more financial ability to dump it for the mid range ones.

will be better, but your flash will nearly always fire at full power... and it only works if there's a low ceiling for you to bounce at..

the flash's power is controlled by the body via TTL
Added on August 28, 2009, 12:06 amdifferent if you're using a flashgun, but then it still fires at different power depending on your exposure settings to give properly exposed images (unless you select everything to be used in manual)

i'd support soulfly on that.. but wouldnt dismiss moo's reasoning as well, as thats the exact reason i got my A700, and i'm glad i took the jump

QUOTE There's no point in me getting an A700 either as it's just a APS-C version of the A900 that's all i needed to hear

weiliang88: there are only 2 choices so far if u want AF (auto focus)
the sony's new 50mm f1.8 or minolta's 50mm f1.7
of coz there are other 50mm 1.4's and 50mm macros, but those will be another level of price all by themselves..
