a900 never officially marketed with weather seal, but it does survive in hardcore environment like one of the journalist for Dakar Rally experienced. rain, dust, sand, no prob.

but not sure whether the a850 has the same kind of body seal, after all it's priced way cheaper than it's elder brother.

F58AM is able to act as commander flash for wireless setup
has more power output
quickshift bounce (like a cobra head)
multiple flash fire
*
but dpreview says tht a900 has 'Environmental seals'...

lwliam: In the context of a B Cam LOL!

If I could choose only one APS-C camera, it might be the A700 still, for the controls. However, the A550 is very, very tempting.

AlphaBeta: The A850 starts shipping in September 2009. biggrin.gif It is already in Malaysia, sitting in warehouses. Waiting for the first sighting of street price, which should be very, very exciting!

It still claims to be moisture-proof (but again, we'll leave it to the brave to test splash/dust.)

hkhk: The cats' eyes would shrink if exposed to bright light for a long time... it's just a flash.

finalfantasty: The F42 can be used off-camera as a wireless slave. The F58 can be used on-camera to trigger wireless slaves but only on the A700/A850/A900.

ahhh...albert did u ever try shooting under rain with ur a900? Oops...i got confused with the 2875 f2.8 which will start shipping in november. doh.gif ....this lens is cheap eh..

speaking of nikon and sony WL flash?? ask me ahha..i have both lol!...i like nikon more...i can set my pop up flash to 0 power and only fire the wireless flash. So my picture would only be lit up with the wireless flash. On a sony..u cant..but i remember albnok told me u have to set the shutter speed and something else... biggrin.gif

sony? the onboard flash does not interrupt with the overall exposure, at least not on my a200. the pre-ADI sends out the information to the flashgun before the actual exposure is fired, so your onboard flash does not influence the final output, at least not in my shots.
huh? i don get u man... the pop up flash will still fire a flash to ur subject. Making ur subject now with 2 lighting source (ur Wireless flash and ur pop up flash)....many ways can be done to overcome the flash from ur pop up flash eg like achew said..use 1/200 or higher/cover with exposed film or tissue. nod.gif

according to what i shot, nopes. my pop up flash does not influence the end result. look at the shadows on the two images i've posted wink.gif

for example; EXIF data intact.
user posted image

*the shadows on the shirt is thanks to a secondary light source, for your information. primary is an f42 at 1/8 power in my left hand above the face at a 10 degree angle down.
facebook punya problem doh.gif always resizing my images, but they've got no unsharp mask doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

U still don understand wht im trying to say...from ur picture..yes i can see tht u r using wireless flash...and i can see 2 light sources...1 from your pop up flash...1 from ur f42.... Go try this...shoot something tht only has 1 source of light which is from ur f42, without covering ur pop up flash. If u can do it...let me know how..i really want to know.. icon_rolleyes.gif

is some situation u need the pop up flash to fill-in some shadows. But im trying to say here, with juz only light source from ur f42...the wireless flash effect is much greater and add 'mood' to ur picture..and also u can bring up some details from ur subject surface if ur flash angle is right..this method is called shadow relief... and back to the original post..i said nikon CLS is able to disable the pop up flash totally... and now u tell me tht even if the pop up flash fires...that would create classic direct flash shadows rclxub.gif no doubt yes its nice!!! but not always..

here..try do this..

Ha, so the D90's pop-up is not that not-showing-in-the-picture! biggrin.gif

And now the rest of us know LOL.
*
No...it is from my D90... The pop up flash gives very little light only...even i shoot things infront of my table also super dark... when i switch to TTL and Commander mode...then it is well exposed...

The incident happened about 1 year ago to 1 of our Orange bros. Went to buy his CZ1680 lens from this shop in Sg Wang. After taking a good look at it, he told the salesman he will go ATM, take money n think about buying the lens. Actually he wanted to go off 1st coz that Jack fella hi pressure sales him to buy it. He needed a few minutes to think quietly whether he wants it or not. As he walked away, Jack came out from the counter n told him he will follow him to the ATM to take money n take him back to the shop to buy the CZ1680. laugh.gif Talk about high pressure sales technique. When sampai the ATM which is near the toilet our bro told Jack he's going to the toilet hoping Jack will pi55 0ff. But no, he even waited for him outside the toilet! Cant remember the details after that. I only remember that high pressure sales part.

Yesterday, I went to pudu plaza to buy some camera gear. Since I brought my camera, I drop by to a second hand shop and let them to quote the price. They said they will take them if I accept the price of below 100.

Is Alpha really so bad?
*
below 100??? or u mean 1000??? if 1000 and ur gears are a200 + 1780...below 1k is reasonable. dun forget they need to earn. So best is still directly sell to a buyer lol.
