Ksano: No, the angle of view of the 50mm on APS-C is different from on the A850/A900.
50mm on FF takes not-wide and not-tele pictures. Just nice if you want to carry only one lens. 50mm on APS-C takes slightly telephoto portraits, equivalent to 50mm * 1.5 = 75mm on FF. No dSLR manufacturer specifies their focal lengths to include the full-frame equivalent. Olympus for example has a 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 which is like a 18-63mm F3.5-5.6 on APS-C which is like a full-frame 28-84mm F3.5-5.6. |
