Personally, I think it's not much of a point not buying a title just because it doesn't come with HD audio.

First off, how many of us actually have a receiver capable. A lot of people aren't early adopters and a lot of receivers aren't "there" yet (IMHO). Of course, we have the option of getting those Blu Ray with HTIB sets when they come out.

Secondly, how many of us can actually tell the difference between true HD and 'old school' Dolby Digital? Hearing a glass that breaks with that extra '2 clink' for that True HD and lossless sound just doesn't really sound that appealing (well.. to me, that is).

If the title doesn't come with True HD audio now, do you think they will release a version in the future with True HD audio? Somehow, I doubt it...

I think to a lot of folks, Blu Ray is all about 1080p (the PQ) more than True HD audio.

I think otherwise. Many of the elites here have HD audio-capable AVR's and therefore it makes a lot of difference. 1080P is a given on BD but HD audio is what makes up the whole package of HD experience.

Personally I would not buy any BD if they don't come with HD audio.

One example of a non-HD audio BD being re-release with Dolby TrueHD is Superman Returns (which I have just bought because of it). Casino Royale in its Deluxe Edition comes with Dolby TrueHD (sounds better IMO) as opposed to its original release which has PCM5.1 (also lossless I know).

One should seriously consider getting a HD audio-capable AVR if one is serious about BD. It's one hell of a difference, IMHO. whistling.gif
