My rule:

1. Content
2. PQ
3. AQ

AQ for movies & concerts must be lossless, for documentaries I got no choice though, I own Planet Earth, Home, The Universe Season 1 & 2, When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions and many more on my to-buy list. Baraka is DTS-HD MA, which is along with the PQ is 5 stars.
*
Content as in the movie itself or the contents of the BD (eg. Special Features, Digital Copy, etc)?

For me, for BDs its always PQ (as in effects) & AQ. I seldom get dramas or nice directing or nice story or classics coz I will get/got them on DVDs. Much cheaper and dun need to rely on eye/aural candies.

Thats why my BD collection all are nonsense, no-brainers, all-out action and loud titles laugh.gif

This is just the beginning bro, remember once you've become an enthusiast there's no turning back. laugh.gif

You using PS3? Make sure the set you're getting can accept multi-channel PCM so you can enjoy lossless audio.

Hope you got my reply. Good luck. biggrin.gif

Bought the Tsai Chin in Concert Hong Kong 2007 based on several recommendations here. Not familiar with her music prior to this. Now regretting ... not my cup of tea at all. Listened to 10 mins, random tracks, cannot tahan .... then switched off. tongue.gif

Nonetheless, the AQ is truly excellent.

Tested with david Foster and Frens,WOW AQ and PQ superb.

Yeah, I agree that its money worth spend, together with the Micheal Buih-Buih one. Out of the 3 Warner promo concerts, I think the Josh Globan one is the least attractive - PQ jatuh a bit, not full concert and kayu performance. In fact, the only thing worth it is his voice. Like that better buy the CD ... whistling.gif

Just finished watching Blade Runner. I never watch this one so can't compare with DVD. Anyway, didn't quite like the story. PQ is good since the movie mostly dark but yet the detail's still obvious. SQ is excellent. The ambiance, surround, dialog and music really pinging from speakers in crisp details....pretty cool.

Next will watch 2001 Space Odisi. Hopefully I won't fall asleep as claimed by some reviewers tongue.gif

Blade Runner is one of my all-time Sci Fi favourites and the best Ridley Scott film for me (next to Alien). Ridley's famed cinematography brilliance, especially those showcased in this movie has been copied by many. I already have the CD, DVD (all the 'cuts'.. doh.gif ) and now waiting for the BD - Ultimate 5 Discs to arrive sweat.gif The Vangelis tracks helps too thumbup.gif

Avatar - This is movie is what, live or CGI? It looks a bit plasticky to be live but it also looks like a better version of FF - Spirits Within ...

Final Thoughts

The Weinstein Company is really doing 'Grindhouse' fans a disservice by keeping 'Planet Terror' and 'Death Proof' separated. Neither movie is as strong on its own as the original 'Grindhouse' experience. The closest we can get now is to watch the two Blu-rays back-to-back, but even that's not quite the same. For what it is, 'Planet Terror' is a fairly fun B-movie homage, and the Blu-ray has a faithful transfer of the intended gritty appearance. The disc comes recommended. Or rather, half-recommended, since you pretty much need to buy 'Death Proof' to complete the package.

Planet Terror http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/1791/planetterror.html

I dont understand why they said, " since you pretty much need to buy 'Death Proof' to complete the package. " ..Planet Terror is a first part ? Any personal review guys ?
*
Both can be considered standalone titles, though why they say 'complete package' is that this the same project collaborated by Tarantino and Rodriguez.

what's the different matrix normal trilogy and the ultimate 1??
*
'Normal' Trilogy is just the three film's BDs.

'Ultimate' is the 3 films plus features, features and more features (3 additonal discs for features).

Other obvious difference is the price ... rolleyes.gif

just recalling BD collection and browsing thru bluray.com,
it seems David Foster is a 1080i BD, but the PQ is stunning, better that many with 1080p...funny tho rclxub.gif

I believe you comparing with movie, movies have all these grains, artistic shots, fast motions/cameraworks, etc that 'blurs' the contents. Concerts are in a 'controlled' environment, with almost static cameras. The opening for Michael Buih-buih where they panned the concert hall also very good! nod.gif
