Just finished watching Blade Runner. I never watch this one so can't compare with DVD. Anyway, didn't quite like the story. PQ is good since the movie mostly dark but yet the detail's still obvious. SQ is excellent. The ambiance, surround, dialog and music really pinging from speakers in crisp details....pretty cool.

Next will watch 2001 Space Odisi. Hopefully I won't fall asleep as claimed by some reviewers tongue.gif

Think of when it was made. Very complex and way ahead of its time.

Good luck on 2001. Kubrick movie very slow. Even Eyes Wide Shut with so much nen nen also can fall asleep... rclxub.gif

I jus rec'd 12 rounds - shld be a great popcorn fare, no? Got ex WWF wan wat to expect.. laugh.gif

2001 is kinda boring( de first 15min wif de men dressed in ape suits - dunno wat de build up oso..) but it is another classic..

Cheers

I believed the Blade Runner Directors cut only added 7 seconds to the movie. All he changed was the colour of the sky at the ending. rclxub.gif

It is a great movie. Loved it. But if you never read the comic book or heard of it then it might be a little too subtle and complex for the general audience. Too much was edited for the theather release. (havent watched the Director's cut but he added about 30mins of footage, hopefully solved that issue)

It is not mainstream comic action. It brings super hero into reality with real world problems. It shows that superhero is not all mighty and powerful as the mainstream comic superheros. See how a super hero is actually just another person.

One of the reason why the comic was such a big deal was the story telling. Each issue(12 issues in all) has some excerpt of each character, told in newspaper articles, in psycology reports, etc... Which was why they said that the movie could not be made. That is also why you say there is a lot to talking and character building because that is what the movie is about. A detective movie with complex characters who so happens to be superheroes. (Read:not a superhero/action movie)

Watch it in that frame of mind and you will enjoy it more, if you want action then go watch Ironman or Dark Knight. This is not an action movie.

Will get it once I get a BD player(waiting for the PS3 slim to come out... unsure.gif )

Just finished watching Watchmen. Dang the movie is 3 hours sweat.gif

To put it simply....the best comic based super heroes movie to date. Great storyline which makes me waiting in anticipation of what's gonna happen next and it keeps on coming till the end. Great musical score. Excellent PQ and SQ. 5/5 for both thumbup.gif

If you ever watch The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow, this movie has the same feeling but way better.

A bit of spoiler.... tongue.gif

Told you was a good movie, glad you like it. thumbup.gif Meant for mature audience(hence the "pee wee"). Not your slam bang comic hero movie.

Comparing it to LXG and Sky Captian is an insult. LXG was a rushed comic book movie resting on its big movie stars while Sky Captian was an excuse to do a movie in old comic book style. Too much style not enough story. whistling.gif

Now if only Sony slim get release then I get to watch some blue pee wee... drool.gif

Was between houses that time. Moved into my office. Think one of my partners staff was there. Locks not broken but alarm disengaged. Was in KK for work so no one there. So many good mini series too including the first Aliens vs Predator series by Dark Horse. cry.gif

(Not that I have even read any of them in the last few years but still....)
