Uncle DHL's turn. He gave me this:

Notice the cheap white envelop, this the first time Amazon used this for my shipment.

Both for my friend. Package value more than RM500. Thank God it wasn't taxed. thumbup.gif

I forgot to order the Divermenti, should've ordered together with the Band of Brothers. doh.gif

Really? I thought it can accept 192kHz. Do other receivers having the same issue? hmm.gif
*
They fixed it in the 876 but Audyssey is not engaged for 192kHz as there is not enuf processing power. But there is no downsampling and it can take all Dolby TrueHD, DTSHDMA and LPCM at 192kHz.

Denon can do it but I am not sure if the lower end models can.

875 can accept LPCM at 192kHz but Audyssey will not be engaged.

There is a restriction for most of the AVRs as it is due to processing power. I believe the sets from this year might be less prone to this.

Yeah, haven't seen any aunties. tongue.gif

I think the white envelop was a good strategy by Amazon. At first I never thought it was a package from Amazon at all, looks very plain like some documents inside.

Was told by one DHL uncle last year, the customs now focus their attention to Amazon boxes, if value more than RM500 the chance is high for it to be taxed. This plain white envelop successfully escaped their attention. thumbup.gif

Just watched District 9. One of the best Sci-Fi movie in recent memory... very creative & inventive! Never seen this type of movie being done like this before but this one's not for all though; some may find this too quirky, absurd & awkward. I liked it because it was not contrived, not typical, very realistic and don't take itself too seriously. There's also some good performances by the unknown actors and very touching ending.

There's nothing to shout on PQ as it was done a la documentary, shaky footage look, everything saturated, over exposed... but that's what I like about the tone & feel. AQ meanwhile is very good, LFE really shake you especially during the "lift-off" and some other "bling balang pow" moments.  biggrin.gif  One more thing I love this movie...the censorship gave up on snipping the F-word, too many of them hehe..

Overall reminds me of Starship Trooper; the un-cheesy version. Go watch it if you have the chance, see what do you think of this one. Me, I'm bloody satisfied... 4.5 out of 5, recommended!  thumbup.gif

Brah,

Well said but being the wildest Sci-Fi film to come out all year I'm giving it 5/5 thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Have fun!

OK, 192kHz LPCM should be no problem then for my 875. For 192kHz DTS-HD MA/Dolby TrueHD tracks, one way is to let the player do the decoding. I wonder if my BD35 can do it, if not I'll just let my PS3 do it.

That's right. Even on standard shipping boxes, Amazon noted blu-rays as 'Music CDs' or 'Audio CDs' instead to divert attention. Also maybe meant for KDN... less possibility for them to suspect any suggestive contents maybe. nod.gif

Do check out Antonio Forcione's Quartet as a concert recording its really good.

Among the concerts that I have the Dave Matthews and John Mayer are the best.

Also have u received ur Divermenti? I just found out that the 875 will not accept a Dolby TrueHD 192kHz source, u might need to use the LPCM on that BD. Also that the 875 downsamples DTSHDMA of 192kHz to 96kHz.

In terms of AQ this is the reference disc for me now.

Although not really a full blown concert, I like the Hall & Oates Live at the Troubadour blu-ray. The AQ is very well mixed and a good balanced sound. You can sense the intimacy and up-close feel of the club setting where the "concert" was held. Of course, being a Hall & Oates fan helps, which I believe you are since you're in that age group! tongue.gif
