Yea, i thought of this as well but worry that the the device cannot take the load from the fan and lights.
Currently using this as remote for my room light.

The fan would just run fine on light circuit. Fan power requirement is not high and just in range of lighting.

hello all,

I plan to run my conduits externally. My question is, can I use Galvanised Steel conduit for single phase? PVC looks cheap cos I want to make my house look like cafe.

thank you!

Yes you can. Actual electrical rule for conduit is galvanized steel. It is safer for wiring to content the radio wave, fire and short circuit.

But because of the material cost and workmanship is expensive, they change it to PVC.

Many factory are still using Galvanised Steel conduit.

can elaborate why it is not recommended? PVC, metal, wood materials not easy to paint. tends to get sticky. Other alternative is to use black PVC.

compulsory for factory to use GS, but for home, will it cause some trouble? I am only doing simple single phase, and my house single storey so kinda easier.

because very hard to work with and very expensive.
and will rust.

pvc easy to paint. just lay them tubes down on the ground and spray only or paint with brush. can even use the same color as the ceiling or wall so that it is not noticable.

if workmanship and cost is the issue, then i think it is ok. not because of eddy current?

yeah, just to double-check. someone in the forum mentioned eddy current, i am not good at electrical, only mechanical and piping nia.

eddy current don't really happen as the electromagnetic field lines are almost parallel.
