I own few Surefires and could testify the feel of quality. And I do own Chinese lights as well.

Part of the high price of Surefire I think is due to its no-question-asked warranty. It's convenience if you're in USA though but not sure if you're in Malaysia because I heard you need to phone them if anything goes wrong.

That's not too bad then. Less hassle as well.

True collector obviously will have all varieties in his collection, AA, CR3, 18650, etc.

But I must admit easily accessible varieties (AA/AAA) are more practical and definitely more convenient.

2 x RCR123 = 2 x 3.6V, so the bulb went poof.

There's not many LED drop-ins for E-series. I put Koala's F1 MicroTower with Rebel LED on mine.

You could look for KL4/E1B/E2DL head if you want to use LED instead of incand.

Some dive lights that are on top of my head are Underwater Kinetics, or if you have the money Barbolight.

I'm also waiting for the Ti Quark, which would be my first light this year as I haven't been buying any new light lately. But < $100 for a Ti light is just irresistable.

With incan light, there's bulb fragility to worry about. Of course, this depends on the nature of the outdoor activities.

And I'm not sure how serious is he into this flashlight world, i.e should he buy some non-regular batteries and a charger or should he stick with AA/C/D batteries.

I personally recommend few of 2AA flashlights from Fenix/Quark/etc, with warm tint if he prefers and that should be sufficient. Normally, people who are into outdoor activities are very particular about weight, so no 6D or any other big light.

Of course, I didn't mean to start a war here

It's always good to have the option, whether incan or LED.

Just out of curiosity, what's the price of Mag Mini or Mag 3C/2D? Is there any LED Mag on sale in any store here?

What's the best way to import flashlight, ebay or CPFMP? Sorry for this sort of question, I just returned to Malaysia.

That sounds interesting. Any idea about run times and does it get hot very quickly?

Yes, still with the stock bulb, with no intention to mod it.

I got a Malkoff M60 in the C2 though.

I used to use the forwarding service by a CPF member, Unforgiven. He charges a small fee for his service but it's still worth it.

His ID is Unforgiven, one of the mods in CPF.

Anyway just found out the he no longer offering the service

I'm in for a HA silver Vantage with warm LED.

I wonder if anybody can do a modding service? I have an old light, Elektro Lumens Ft-3C, with a Luxeon and it could do with a new emitter.
