QUOTE(susuman @ Nov 23 2009, 10:51 AM) Hi guys, I am backed, here are the updated list for the RRT0 GB: I'll prefer OP though. Having smoother beam close to mid range is appropriate for me 1. susuman - Q3-5B 2. old newspaper 3. jmaguire 4. jmaguire - Q3-5B 5. pseudoblue 6. damonlbs 7. ggMing 8. vincenthsl 9. Chieftat 10. z-b-i 11. Gbird 12. Proclaimer* * to be confirmed List in priority order of the PM/I'll take it post If not correct please let me know. for the OP or SMO, I have to check, so anybody want the SMO? or all will be fine with OP? Anyway I am taking the opportunity to take all of the interested and participated parties to make this GB a reality (& and success soon). If there are no OPs and we have to wait, find out the duration la. We can also just go ahead with SMO? |

It looks like only the OP experience the very bright pre-flash while others didn't, maybe he did get a faulty unit? They either noticed it when reading this post or prior, but dimmer.
Pre-flashes, as I've read somewhere before, it is necessary for lights that are small and runs a buck and boost circuit (which is more expensive to do and "difficult") and maximizing its efficiency, especially on the low, low modes. Getting the best regulation out of your battery, especially being compatible to 1.5v to 3.0v batteries. On 4.2v Li-IONs, the regulation is the best. Buck and boost circuit was more common in bigger flashlights, the circuitry was easier than in smaller lights. There are so many smaller lights now and they all run on boost circuit only. Energy efficiency for boost circuit only lights are at a mid-range percentage. On the graph, their regulation is not so fantastic as you see in buck circuits. Buck and Boost circuit in a light like the RRT-0 and that small is simply awesome, thats why technically I'm fond with the Quark AA, hence given the adjustable magnetic UI ring on the RRT-0 is the absolute combo close to the perfect light and size I was looking for besides my TA21. Let's see how good the RRT-0 when we finally get to use it |

QUOTE(ggMing @ Nov 23 2009, 03:44 PM) old newspaper.. haha, hey they are not making a single cent. You guys are buying it as it is, and in fact, it involves their own additional cost in doing online payments, arranging with supplier, arranging delivery and pickup, travelling cost, time and management cost. Let's hope got no custom tax also, they even thought of covering separate shipment costs themselves but let's split those costs ar if got. They'll work something out to avoid it.i should be the one who thank you.. i'm a trader myself, but not on flash light.. and i very well understand what you are going thru, sometimes, the work load is just not worth the profit... and assuming, you are earning none or very little from this GB... again, kudos to you.. at least to me, you are significant to flashlights! flashlight = susuman / oldnewspaper! QUOTE(susuman @ Nov 23 2009, 04:24 PM) ... Psst, are u saying that the RRT-0 has parisitic drain? Thought the pre-flash 'eliminate' (in shortest term) the use of parisitic drain too, maybe I read your post wrongly That is why the standby mode is for, it uses some power for running the MCU constantly, so when you ON the light, it will be Rapid Response , with the price that some power are consumed even the light not in use. Hey, if you are using protected batteries, the battery are IN use even you let it sit in storage (the protection circuit need power to check on the circuit). So, it is an issue that not really an issue. Oh, my writing is based on my knowledge on the RRT2, RRT0 will in GB stage, I am working on the ETA of the light also. |

QUOTE(susuman @ Nov 23 2009, 05:14 PM) All the RRT 0 has a standby mode, meaning you click ON the light, but in standby mode, the light is not on, you can Rapidly on the light by using the selector ring, not the clickie anymore, in this standby mode, it consume some power, but the pre-flash is eliminated (for RRT2, I think same apply to RRT0). Ok, after reading abt the RRT-2 UI, I get what you mean now. Not sure if it's the same with the RRT-0 although the reviewer didn't mention that standy-mode part. Very interesting indeed. |

QUOTE(susuman @ Nov 25 2009, 10:41 AM) Yeah, I tought so, may be our president should start to organize a brain storming on the custom light design? Hehe, i need to do my own research as well... zzz... Shall we just copy a C2 design Anyway, i came across these yesterday: Fivemega 18mm bodies for sale Price is about 120+ after conversion. Seems like a good machined body and comes without engraving. Seems like a good lego stuff.. QUOTE(strinq @ Nov 25 2009, 10:53 AM) Susuman: Not really my stuff, my friends stuff. I just got myself the 123's. Weird lah, got this paranoia that i might never have enough batteries. Lol, do u guys feel the same? So i keep thinking that i really need an AA light cuz the batts are easy to find. I will take my time to consider the best one and also probably get it next year when the neutral and more efficient XP-Gs are out at the end of this year. Strinq, if you can wait, then by all means. Some of us cannot resist liao, buy buy broke.. aisshBut what do u guys think of a tail twisty? i think its really inconvenient, the whole point of the twisty being the head is so that it can be handled with one hand easily. At the tail u need 2 hands. I think its a bad design haha. *I prefer head twist tho, coz of easier operation, if anything wrong or an upgrade, can lego or replace the head. Tail twist will add abit more material making the light unnecessary longer? QUOTE(susuman @ Nov 25 2009, 11:06 AM) Haha, I can order if you want, but he has a Jet-III M Ti exstock, http://light-reviews.com/jetbeam_jet-ti_m/ Put me in the list! (in your christmas giveaway) HAHA, pm me the price too yea. *did u ask for the M1X price too?want? haha oh yeah the M1X has cool white and warm white tint ex-stock also, how many, one for each? joking, just asked about the price, will PM you once I got the reply.
