Added on December 4, 2009, 11:10 amBtw, some good read:

Paper-Thin Batteries
http://www.smartplanet.com/business/blog/s...-clothing/2366/

Still at a new stage:
Quote:
"The new batteries could be used in applications such as flexible electronics (e.g. e-book readers), clothing and packaging. The researchers said they were not intent on replacing conventional lithium ion batteries, but rather finding new uses for batteries, such as to power sensors in intelligent wallpaper or to power athletic clothing that monitors the body."

"The batteries are said to hold 50 to 200 percent more charge than similar conducting polymer batteries. With more optimization, the batteries could compete head-to-head with commercial lithium batteries, found in consumer electronics such as mobile phones and laptop computers, according to the researchers."

"But what about lifespan? The new battery shows a 6 percent loss after 100 charging cycles, a vast improvement over comparable polymer batteries. (This is an important measurement. A common complaint about lithium ion batteries concerns their short shelf life, just a few hundred cycles before significant loss shows.)"

Hrm, I'm not sure how the retaining ring looks like exactly. But it should have identations or protruding edges for grip with a tool, try using an anti-slip mat to turn the ring? Haha, newspaper should be able to give more info tongue.gif

I noticed in MYCPF, Tropical Equipment held some exhibitions? Outdoor/Indoor and lightings stuff? There seems to be gap since 2007 till now.

Using tool scratch the bezel, the best option is using the antislip mat (found in your car), it always works.

Tropical Equipment? Their surefire price is really expensive, double of the price u can get from US/ebay.

Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra Group Buy Update :

some first hand information from Ricky...[ not even published in CPF yet ] :
- this D-Mini VX Ultra share the same body as the previous D-Mini VX
- same UI as D-Mini VX and Vantage - 3 modes [ 100%, 33% and 5% ]
- the D-Mini VX's teleforce [ which will be release soon ] WILL NOT be compatible with this new D-Mini VX Ultra....but there will be a new teleforce for this in near future [in planning stage now ]
- the quoted price on this is include the D-65v body tube [ support 18650 ] and with free registered shipping!  brows.gif
- dateline given is until 8th December, otherwise will be buying at slightly higher price....

just some extra note here for you guys :
- there's only limited unit up for sales at the moment as his supplier only supplied a small quantity of SST-50 LED
- RCP price is USD 119.50, pre-order price is USD 105 and my price is USD XX only, yes 2 digit only  brows.gif
- but don't expect 50% off the RCP price as according to Ricky, the SST-50 Led alone is almost half the RCP price....
- this D-Mini VX Ultra was planned 6 months back, so no worry on the myth of 1st batch production issue....

sorry guys, as promised to Ricky i can't openly published the 'special price' here or even in CPF.....so you guys have to PM me for the 'special' price  drool.gif
note :
for those purchased the Vantage previously, good news for you guys....there's a special price given for the Vantage's teleforce for more throw power  brows.gif
