if your L1D has an Q5 emitter in it just leave as is because swaping it to K2 TFFC or Cree R2 won't do any justice cause the difference is only on the lux meter not human eye but if your L1D has an P4 emitter than it's worth mentioning .

expensive la the JB RRT0

Your LD10 is ok what with Light Orange Peel (LOP) reflector.
You can use 14500 in it but all levels will be the same except sos&strobe.
If you want to minimize the ringy, re-focus the bezel section with soft rubbery mouse pad until that dark halo is disappear.
