Hi Bright Side masters,

I am planning to get one good flash light to hook on to my marker..

It is for playing paintball at night.. i am currently eyeing on the eagletac P100C2... cost about RM160..

Is it good? if you have a better idea than that, i would appreciate if you could share some..

My budget would be below RM200 though.. thanks!
*
Buy it and be happy you got a great light at a great deal. =D

Might as well top up rm25 and go for the T100C2 Mark II.
Worth it.
*
You can do that as well. I like the P100C2 cos it's smaller and less bulky. Important consideration for a weaponlight. T100C2 throws much further.

P100A2 is uglier and dimmer. =D

don't have to be rich to own this.....lol, just save up and buy lo...like me...and i could only afford to own 1 of this only not more than that  sweat.gif

for me buying flashlight is better than buying expensive toys [ transformer etc etc, sorry if i offended anyone ya ], at least it's for it usefulness and could be a life saver too ! my wife and kids are spending more than this buying their stuffs.....daddy need a break too right? LOL
*
I already have a Raw and a Wee. So buying this would require me to be rick. Lol.

QUOTE(Philightsophy @ Sep 15 2009, 07:49 PM)
Err, I think polkiuj will be the best person to talk to, regarding keychain lights + high output  biggrin.gif
You get so much heat build up in a small body that running it over 100 lumens is a 'heated' affair smile.gif . Also, it is meant as an EDC and emergency/backup light. 60 lumens from lights is rather bright in dark environments wink.gif

About the scratches, LiteMania mentioned this:
If you scrub with soft material like a door key,
you will observe a line looks like a scratch above.
Actually this line is not a scratch,
but a continuation of debris off the metal key left in the
very minute surface structure of heat treated titanium.
In such case, we recommend to polish the light with a Metal Glow.
That is it.

From my understanding, the heat treated version is very hard and can be restored with a non abrasive metal polish.
*
Raw running 200L gets HOT! I'm not comfortable with the LED getting that hot although Rob says it's OK. It will definitely lose its output very fast. My Wee running at 50L is a nice light but some places can't use cos it's too bright (like cinema) and some places dun throw far enough. But that's why I have another light in my pocket right?

QUOTE(Togepy @ Sep 16 2009, 02:02 AM)
hi guys, im planning to get the fenix tk20.
Before getting it, just wana get some answers about batteries to be used in it.
The TK20 states that the batteries sud be 1.5v AA, how about those 1.2v or 1.7v type? can they be used in it also??
2ndly, if i were to leave the batteries in the flashlight for quite some time, which batteries should i get?? the normal energizer or the energizer lithium(e2 or something)
which 1 is better to be leave in it for long period? as i know normal alkaline energizer may leak, but how about the lithium version? will they leak too or spoilt the light if leave in it for long period?
and 1 more thing, does the over discharge risk applies to normal AA batteries(alkaline/lithium) also or only to li-ion batteries??

thanks in advance for the answer...  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
and pardon my noobness  blush.gif  blush.gif
*
My 1st question is why TK20? I can think of better lights at cheaper prices with better emitters available. (Sorry Fenix, haha!)
If you're not going to use it often, it's probably going to be kept in the car or at home for emergencies right? The best battery would probably be Energizer E^2 lithium primary. Why I ask is because TK20 has a rubber body thing which might become sticky if left in the heat. No experience but that's just what I think. It's also way expensive. Unless you use it a lot (it is WAY tougher that the 2 lights below), you don't need the toughness.

Here are my recommendations.
Eagletac P100A2 neutral. Q3-5A.
4Sevens Quark AA^2 neutral tactical. Q3-5A.
?? err... dunno de.

QUOTE(strinq @ Sep 16 2009, 05:21 PM)
Just a thought, anyone who wants to sell their lights (2nd hand) should post here (its against the rules but then it's really sad to see people selling overseas when the locals here can save them shipping costs etc)
what do u guys think?
*
I think you should create a new thread for selling and also put the link on your sig then we'll all know. =)

I nearly got the MOLLE from Pentagon...but since they went kaput now, i would wait for the Mc-10..hopefully the price wont turn me away...

But i dunno why some ppl think it's fugly...the design of it is so you could clip onto your MOLLE vest (or anything that matters today) and to have it stand on one end acting like sort of a table lamp..

Used to have the older bigger version during our 40km scout walk...and boy was it huge..!! Not to mention it's dim compared with LED we have today....

Gwen aka Nie, do keep us posted when your boss bring in this MC-10 k...   smile.gif

I think the MC-10 is fugly. Yuck!
Can't imagine why anyone would take this over a Zebralight. xD
Then again, I'm biased.
Hmm... A Fenix release without beamshots? That's a 1st.

Hey I just went thru your previous posts! Sorry really busy these days... =(

I'll just add what I think about Eagletac. Mwahaha!

Sorry to say this but Eagletac does have some (quite serious) design issues. The good part is that they honor their warranty and they are fast to fix their problems. =)

Here are some examples:

The old P/T10 series had a HUGE problem with lens breaking. Many have reported it and it was due to a horrible design. But it was fixed soon after it was discovered with silicon inserts. =D

The M2 series had that horrible strobe that was soooo near the max. It also had water leakage issues. But it was fixed even faster than the lens issues.

The P100 series has many off centre emitters and donut holes in it's beam. Also reports of weak anodizing. This probably has been fixed too.

So... conclusion is..

Eagletac has design issues (a lot of companies have this)
Eagletac has good warranty and fixes problems with whatever issues they have.
My hybrid T10/LC2 rocks.
Buy Eagletac without worrying.
I love the P100 cos it's cheap, awesome and now... (drum rolls) comes with neutral white!!!! Lalala whistling.gif

Hi guys,

What polkiuj shared is true, regarding ET's past design faults, and it is fortunate that ET managed to fix most of it (strobe is too easily accessed though). Later batches of the '10' models has a redesigned head, which will hold and protect the lens better (like the model polkiuj has  tongue.gif )
The anodizing on the '100' seems to be better on the new batches, but I still can't comment how it will hold up. I do know that anodizing on aggressive knurlings seems to be a bit weaker due to very small contact point for the anodizing to bond to the light. Either ways, keeping my fingers crossed on this  smile.gif
For ET lights, the use of button top cells is required due to a physical reverse polarity ring.

PS: I feedback good and bad response to ET, including my own opinion. I am still an flashlight enthusiast first  brows.gif
*
Haha! I almost didn't buy my T10LC2. It was disappointing at 1st but I love it now. Heh.

QUOTE(gadgetworld2u @ Oct 9 2009, 04:21 PM)
Nope no problem, cause the magnet can conduct current. We have been using it with flashlight which needs 2pcs 18650 due to flat head can't contact wit each other.
*
Be careful using magnets on batteries. It can create a short esp. on damaged head batteries causing a nice big (since its a 18650) BOOM! rclxub.gif

With any info, already 6 Group Buy, we are really group of crazy flashacholic, anyway, not into the GB, because 2 AA is not my liking length/style, happy to see you guys ordering anyway.  rclxms.gif

Btw, old newspaper, are you sure 10 pcs no issue with custome, I bet they might hold up the parcel and tax 30%+10% if they declare as flashlight (heard that declaring as TORCH has only 10% sales tax). I am not sure about these importing, but my hunch is that 1-2 unit in soft/bubble envelopes will not be tax, but in a box parcel I think very likely. Just 1 cent. laugh.gif
*
When the customs call you or send a letter, make sure you have you HS code ready. Then no need to worry. 10% only. I can give you the code if you need or get from Rookiedaddy. =)

Anything above RM 1000 will most likely be intercepted.

my most prefer light shall be 18650 setup....but this Vantage looks promising with it's physical outlook and the beamshot. and someone quoted before that ' Lumapower's reflector is one the best in the industries'. Order have not been made yet as i haven't start collecting the $$ from interested buyer here... hope Ricky could release some info on this by tomorrow.

i have no experience with custom before, but definitely i'll ask Ricky to declare this as torch sample and valued it at below USD50 for all the items...

i'll be getting my first group buy of Xeno this few days....less than 5 pcs. but that was using shipping with DHL...i'll see whether tis will be held up with custom or not....
maybe pester your fiancee to get it for you as the early Christmas present?  tongue.gif  biggrin.gif

oooh..... i'd just received a good news from Rob - my Raw Ns and Wee Ns will be dispatched out before this Thursday !  rclxm9.gif
*
Haha! I disagree (lol! But I'm biased)
I still think the best reflector is Inova. =D
Then the Quarks. (See? Told you I'm biased.)
Quarks might have a upper hand cos you still can see the 16 squares of the K2 TFFC on the Inova if you really look hard (took me weeks of staring) but I like the floodiness. =D

QUOTE(RookieDaddy @ Oct 19 2009, 08:17 PM)
susuman, not sure where you get the 30%+10% from if declare as flashlight, but there are no separate HS codes for flashlight nor torch, you can lookup HS code from our custom website. if you are tax, then it's a 10% sales tax and no other.  biggrin.gif
old newspaper, with any luck, if the parcel is small, you may just get it thru without any issue. but do know the HS code in case you need to fill-in for declaration. some info in pm.  smile.gif
*
Unfortunately there is a seperate code. They wanted to tax me 30% + 10%!!

i already got it from Rookiedaddy ! anyway i'll separate the shipment of this group buy, maybe 5 pcs in each shipment and declare it  way below RM500 as sample...would this help?

the reflector note was quoted by one of the reviewer from CPF...can't remember his nick d....speaking of Quark, have you got any dispatch email from 47 yet? i'm still eagerly waiting for it arrival !

QUOTE(susuman @ Oct 21 2009, 09:20 AM)
Yup, the E2DL is really bright, but if E2DL is rated 120lm in specification, but can reach 200 lm OTF, then the LX2 specified at 200lm should be nearly 300-400lm?? so it could be a 5W LED?

Yeah, you are right, the brightness is very hard to measure by eyes. Take for example  I have a Jetbeam IBS, from 30-50%, you hardly notice any different especially indoor, and from 50% to 100%, you notice only very slight different change. It will notice a slight changed in the hot spot when hit about 80%, but not really a day/night different.

So I set it to 30%, since I use that one in my house (indoor use), 30% of current draw save the battery and without heat generated from the battery or emitter.

Love if you could join us this Saturday, so we could take a look on the LX2. icon_idea.gif
*
E2DL should almost be the same as the LX2. Since they use the "same" emitter and optics and probably the same level driver too or very close to each other. It's doubtful that an X-RE that has 300-400L will last very long if at all. Lol.
