My top three picks on that price range are Shroom-EB, Brainwaz M2, Brainwaz-M1 = ECCI PR300 = PL50 (okay, may be not 'three'). But for what you are looking for (good bass. smooth highs, good mid), my recommendation goes to M2 first.

anyways.... u can always go to head-fi and look for sm3 review.... got lots of nice reviews and also some negative reviews.... either way, i think there's enough information over there about sm3....

haha...i'm eyeing the euro currency rate everyday whistling.gif IMO it isn't really expensive as compared to ortofons or IE8 where u need about RM1600 for the latter..the SM3 would cost at most RM1500?

To be honest the current UE line-up doesn't really interest me enough. I am not saying it is impossible but the chance is slim.

Well the USD exchange rate is great now. You can probably get one from U.S. and still pay a few hundreds less than the local price (IE8 in Singapore is also mych less than RM1600).
