Digital output from Revo is only available through HDMI if not mistaken. So to enjoy the digital surround sound from Revo, you will need a HDMI port on the AVR.

I think it really does eh, just like any other devices out there for example DVD player, PS3 and etc. It did cut out some mess by just using a single cable. Perhaps it is designed in such a way that you either use it on your computer/office desk (who needs an AVR for web surfing and email checking...?), OR, use it solely as a HTPC in your theater room (who's gonna use their theater without an AVR?).

Better, give the current unit to other family member, then buy another one...ASRock Ion 330.
