I got a few questions. Should i user Feser or should i use distilled water?

Everyone is saying distilled is cheaper and a better cooling source then Feser and liquid of those sorts which are expensive gimmicks.

But if using distilled, where should i buy from and what should i put in it when using? I'm scared if i used distilled, i won't know how to maintain it doh.gif

Please advise.

my advice for wc newbie always go for low conductivity item by using feser one coolant and forgot the rumours says it will tilt after sometimes. Why? Because i experienced myself when i put the compression fittings on the GPU waterblock (swiftech MCW-60), and suddenly the o-ring is not enough to stop the water from leaking over my 2nd gc. hahaha.. at that times, nothing happen and it not cause any short to my gc board. Imagine if you're using the distilled water or battery water which is still a water with high conductivity, my board will be surely damaged.... yawn.gif

After you know how to handle all the things on wc then, you can go for distilled water or battery water which is a cheap source for watercooling. Who said distilled water never give any problem? hahahaha ask mr martin (R4st4m4n) about it... He said that his tubing got algae after sometimes using the distilled water. so? laugh.gif

Whats an o ring and what do you mean by tilting?

Also how long before Feser converts to become conductive? Because according to the scientific evidence, they say if u spray a brand new Feser coolant (which someone did try when i read a review) onto some live motherboard, nothing happens.

But if it's in use in your water cooling system, how long before it will become conductive? Has anybody tested that out yet biggrin.gif

it will be low conductive as long as you don't mix it with water + other liquid. the compression fitting comes with hidden o ring, sometimes when the hole is not too deep for this compression fitting to fit or there is a small space available between that, you need another thick o ring to make it fit without leaking. The bitspower o ring normally will fit if you push it harder but you will notice there's scratch in between the small space on some part like Swiftech MCW60 GPU waterblock. So, we need another thick o ring to perfectly fit it.

The life expectancy for feser one coolant is for 2 years. When reach that time, need to flush the coolant and replace with the new one. In between that you can always refill it. The UV color will disappear from time to time... But you can add another feser uv dye to bring back the color to original. Maybe this is what they call tilting.. laugh.gif

Ah thanks for the explanation :}
Many people are reporting Feser is a marketing ploy >-<;

http://forums.pureoverclock.com/showthread.php?t=6964&page=2
One guy suggested to me an alternative.
Another person mentions to use a kill string in addition to biocide, as well as to use water repellant spray to coat your mobo and other components, just incase there are any leakage, and to keep the coolant away from the PSU.
Source: http://www.overclock.net/water-cooling/621...er-pt-nuke.html
Ok so now my new question is ...... if i use distilled water, do i still need to drain and replace it after 1-2 years the same like Feser coolant or no need? Or is a simple top up alright?
*
once in a while you'll noticed the performance drop or any water color changes on the tube, it's time to make a replacement. anyway distilled is still the best source for cheap. You need no worry to drain because it's available at most grocery and everywhere. biggrin.gif

Anyway, everybody has stated their own thought but at least i experienced myself about the feser one coolant. It spill on my gc, a lot of 'em but nothing happen. laugh.gif

Maybe you should test, to know which one is better in terms leak happen. If you have any chapalang psu and old fan, try to put the fan on some part of distilled water. looks either it's nothing happen or will blow your electronic device. brows.gif laugh.gif so at least you know.. there's so many rumours around that i felt sicked to hear that off! hahahahhhahahaha......

Thx for the advise smile.gif

I will definately be careful where i get distilled water from. Anybody know a good source for 100% authentic distilled water biggrin.gif ?

Scared if i get from petrol station it could be ordinary tap water (Malaysia like this >-<: )
Oh i was reading about silver kill coil.
http://www.realredraider.com/vbulletin/sho...p?t=2088&page=4
Should i worry about corrosion if i put 2-3 of these in my water reservoir?

I read Silver and copper play nice corrosion wise, but what about nickel and alcatel added into that?

Where can i get a 99.99% silver kill coil? How much?
*
I think it's better you buy the Feser UV coolant instead spending almost the same amount to get silver kill coil. If you don't like its uv color, u can always get their non-uv transparent/black one. At least you don't have to worry if there's leaking around... whistling.gif

Moogle, if you're already using silver, you don't need biocide. The silver acts as the biocide. The reason distilled water + silver is recommended is because its simple. Don't add more things than necessary, it add to the risk of a screwed up loop.

I'm also looking for a source of distilled water, can't seem to find any, getting my friend to steal some from his lab XD

Regarding UV Coolants, anyone recommending it, better read this:

lol of course the color will disperse after long usage. at least can re-color it back using their dye. laugh.gif

Its not about losing colour la, the problem with dyes is that it can clog up your loop because the chemicals eventually bond together especially if your loop has restrictive blocks.

i don't see any obstacles yet.. biggrin.gif

yes i read 'em... but i not encountered any problem with the Feser One Coolant yet.. maybe i should wait until the color disappear then let's see how it goes and how true the story... icon_rolleyes.gif sweat.gif
