Hi,

I have tried and successfully remove the scratch from iphone back and the chrome bezel.

This is the product i'm using. it is a metal polish product call "autosol" and "braso". it can be use both on the metal bezel and the back plastic.
it only cause you around 7-10 ringgit each.

But several precaution need to be noted.

1) remove hair line scratches - sometime u see as hairline but it is deep. therefore if u polish it it will make it more obvious. but no worry keep doing it and it will clear in no time.

2) Must apply some pressure. Somehow i think this black casing is quite hard.

3) if it is a deep scratch. use very very fine sand paper. sand it first then continue to use autosol to polish it. dun worry .. autosol will remove the tiny scratches.

4) Apple logo and wording is printed. so dun use sand paper on this area and do not polish this area so much. however in my case i take the risk because my apple logo have many hairline scratches. i use autosol to polish it as well. it successfully remove 70-80 % of the scratches. it take me more then 5-10 min polishing the logo still there. i personally think the logo is printed very thick. even at the worlding also the same.

5) i personally think autosol work better then braso. so i decide to use autosol first. then continue to use braso as braso is more mild. provide even better finishing.

6) last but not least i also use the car wax another layer of protection and it further giving a better furnishing.

* Please only polish the casing when u using it for a long time and u no longer take it (too scratches)
* you do it at our own risk. i take mine and happy about it tongue.gif

Hi Prototype,

I just use those normally polishing cloth u can buy from normal hardware shop.

For me i will take the risk as it is already some scratches. But if your condition bad. then better hold it until u cannot take the scratches anymore.

*i work in a watches industry before. there is many method to clear the scratches. especially the plastic glass. i use this method to clear the scratch on the surface * do not tell anyone tongue.gif

by the way i will try to take a picture for you to see ..

Regards

Hi,

Sorry i dun have a nice camera with me only an old sony ericson k810i.

The is the best i can get

Before (Use a DigiCam)

Attached Image
* Many Hairline scratches.

Attached Image
* Some scratches on the * Iphone 16gb word as it was laying down on the table. Still some scratches after polish * cause i scare the word faded away.

After (Use k810i)

Attached Image
There is still minor scratches on The Apple but the camera cannot take it but it make it much more less visible.
* reason why still scratches, because i scare the logo with faded. after less visible then i think should be okie already. don;t do too much ..

Attached Image
* no longer have clear visible scratches. if you have patience .. you may get it better then this. i have no patience at all. not so much time.

Regards,

The picture weren't too clear. I too lazy to continue. still got some minor minor scratches. If got time sure can make it better. But from the camera u can see it is no so easy to see. almost unnoticeable i normal carrying distance. Only u see very clearly then different story la. Remember u you got very deep scratches please sand it with super super fine sand paper.

Oh btw. becareful of the camera lens *must cover it with a tape or something, else the reflective coating will come off when u polish it using braso or autosol.

Bcareful when using autosol, try not to use it that often because it's quite strong. It's like you're removing a layer of ur iPhone when you're polishing with it that's why the effect is pretty gd xD Normally ppl use them on metal subject only.
