You mean local or US?

If local the don't need to find it, KLSE has not yet reach 50 years old. biggrin.gif

Actually what is the purpose of 50 years old chart then? kinda interesting to know as well.

To get the full picture on any investment proposition or strategies. Maybe i am too academic, but its interesting if u can get into theoratical roots that provide a basis of all fundamental or investment strategies that investor used.
It may takes a lot of works but i dont know how to start... hehe... Act how old is KLSE, how to get its chart, quote, p/e ratio etc from the starting year of KLSE.

not to turn you down, but Malaysia market recently is more towards goreng : either legally by Government agency (EPF, Amanah, ValueCap) and local and foreign syndicate.

If you want proper research, do after 1997.

the reason is simple : prior to 1997 - was due to Foreign Share holding. now either none or low %.

Bottom line for me: I dun go for such PE/Ratio data.

gecodine,

Buy Dynaquest's "Stock Performance Guide" which is published and updated quarterly. It has a full list of stocks and their 10-years performances (PE, DY, highs-lows, charts, etc). It is readily available in all MPH bookstores.

I already go thru the stock performance guide, but i think its not enough, bcoz they didnt provide us with the average of all p/e, div yield etc in each sector for each year. oso, the risk indicator beta & std deviation where to find?

Look back historical data is good, but it to go for too long period, it could become meaningless already.

Just like abc company 50 years ago, might not as same as now. For eg. GM is selling like hot cake and one of big blue chips 50 years ago, now tapao already.

Company business is not stagnant, it could evolve and change, so by looking its historical PE, div yield, beta, standard deviation does not give you a clue whether you should invest or not.

Don't get me wong, looking back history is a good exploring knowledge and tell us a bit of the background story, but it doesn't indicate how compang future or share price future will be.

Existing business model strenght, profitability and profitability future is the most important thing to look at.

Things always changing.

gecodine,

If the Stock Performance Guide does not help, then nothing else can help you. No one has that time to analyse and compile everything for you. Perhaps you could be the first to do that.

I don't know why you need a 50 years history, but 10 years of stock performance is more than enough for me. You have been reading too much of Warren Buffet's book haven't you?

i din read any of those books, i just study finance in ACCA, and somewhere i just want to know does it work in the past. 10 yrs is enough.. stock performance guide also almost enough, but no average P/E in each sector for each year. Beta, standard deviation like i mention just now... is bloomberg the only way to explore this..?

Basically everybody has access to Bloomberg. It is open to all. For your information, those remisiers will NOT entertain your request. You are asking for more work. Why would they do that?
