From your past posts, you seems like mid term investor... Buy and sell within weeks... Is the the best way to earn money based on your experience (from yourself and clients)?  I'm just curious... Not saying your way is wrong or right...
*
My Adventa has been with me for almost three years .Finally let go all today as I think the PE is getting to where it should be.

I normally don't go for short terms. If it so happen that the price spike to a level where I think it is already fully valued,I will sell.

I still holding some long term/not reach my selling level stocks,Ah Chuan,Bjtoto,BHIC,Bursa,CScenic and some SG shares,to name a few. Some have been with me for as long as I can remember.

Not to say that my strategy is the right way. There is no absolute right or long in this kind of decision,a right this month may turn out to be a big mistake three month down the road.a wrong today can turn out to be a big right in future. No need to look back and regret since you can't undo what is done.

I only buy stocks that are fundamentally sound.Goreng stocks seldom keep(except for my Cscenic which became long term by compulsion) rclxub.gif .

(This is all rubbish, don't believe a single word I said)

Do you know what will be the price after ex? I mean let say close at 3.98?? I dunno the calculation
*
This case is straight forward,

(5 x 3.98) + (2 x 2.80 ) = total outlay,

Total outlay divided by 7 is the theoretical ex price.

I want to inteprete, I want to inteprete (noob angkat tangan)  wave.gif .....

If I understand it correctly, it should be like this. If you hold 10 scomi shares, you get the right to buy:
1) 15 scomi shares (without discount (100% stock price value) with a par value of RM 0.10)
2) 2 free warrants (no need to pay)

Just tembak only..... hope it is correct...  blush.gif
*
1)should be 15 ICSLS,not scomi shares.

ICULS, right. Means X amount of C then pay Y amount of cash to convert to mother-share? (something like OR??)

FREE WARRANTs means the mother share sure jatuh longkang.. aiya..

I can get roughly 60 + lots of warrants. Upon listing will lelong all..
*
It's loan stock.meaning company borrow from you,pay you interest,on maturity, the loan stock will be converted into shares at predetermined conversion ratio,in this case, the conversion ratio has not been announced yet.

Is this type of arrangement good or bad for investors? Care to elaborate, Mr remiser.  notworthy.gif

QUOTE(cherroy @ Aug 14 2009, 10:18 PM)
ICULS is not good for existing shareholders, as those ICULS eventually will be converted into mothershare after maturity.

Subscribed to ICULS won't make your much money, in fact a lot of time making loss, as it must be issued at par value, or RM 1 or RM0.10, so when it first listing time, it also trade at same or most of the time lower than the subcribed price, that's why company need to give free detachable warrant as 'sweet' to compensate the potential loss in taking up the ICULS.

The reason why it can't chalk up premium like warrant, because it carries no gearing, conversion is based on number of ICULS into mothershare, like 10 ICULS convert into 1. No exercise price/cash involved.

The good side is it only will dilute the EPS after the maturity, so it is instead of right issue, (which diluted straight away), it defers the dilution effect until 5 years afterwards (most ICULS have 5 years life time), while paying loan interest in between.

You can treat it yourself as ahlong, right.  biggrin.gif

One thing good about ICULS, it pays your fixed interest every year, no matter how mothershare or ICULS price go. So it is a source of fixed income play while exposed yourself into equities.

I previously like ICULS play before, bought a lot as well so that it gives me a steady stream of income, (my always style, that's we I like reit and dividend play), but now, it is become less popular, while those issuing it are more on second, third liner stocks only, not more big cap, big name company issuing anymore.
*
protonnw,Taikor already answer your question.

ICULS price does move in line with the price of the mother shares. For example,an ICULS that is convertible into mother shares on a two
ICULS to one mother share basis should in theory, worth 50sen if the mother share trades at RM1.In reality, the price of the ICULS may be 48 sen or even 52 sen.(case in point:BJgrp and it's ICULS)

Some ICULS can be converted to mother share any time during the tenure of the ICULS,some can only be converted at maturity, the later normally trades at a slight discount to it's intrincit value to reflect the carrying cost and the additional risk of mother share price falling.

In the case of Scomi,I remember reading that the conversion ratio will be fixed at 30% discount to the five day volume weighted closing price(correct me if I'm wrong). If this is correct, then the ICULS should be worth 13 sen as compare to the issue price of 10sen(or RM1.30 as compare to the issue price of RM1)PROVIDED the ICULS can be converted anytime.

If RiverStone doing glove for clean room, then sure share price dropping...
It is good that if Riverstone start doing surgical glove smile.gif

Riverstone mentioned in the Edge article that they will be producing 40% (up from the current 20%)healthcare gloves by 2011.Maybe by then, the hyped up about glove long over liao.

This company has very little debts as at 31/12/08,less than 16 mil and cash/fd already more than 40m.this IMO,is very healthy and none of the Malaysian glove company is in this enviable position.

Current PE is around 13,EPS around 8 sen.PE A bit on the high side but in line with company like Adventa.DY was 3.5 %.

(Not recommending anything, just sharing some of my views.BUY/SELL at your own risk)
