QUOTE(teehk_tee @ Aug 11 2009, 11:58 AM) oh i won't know for sure. and i definitely hope it's not gonna happen. a delisting doesn't sound good for the stock price (in my case since my ABP is quite high) agree... and KNM market capitalisation is over than 1bil if i remember correctly...usually when privatising a listed company the board of directors will offer a slight premium (maybe 5-10%) in order forthe offer to shareholders to release the shares to be attractive. but that'll usually require quite a big sum of money. dun scare me pls... my paper loss in this counter ard 2k |

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Aug 12 2009, 08:16 AM) You need to be Fair also. copy pasta? and mah sing will be suspended for todays trading...Traditionally bulls would be sidelines before any Fed meetings. So bears took the advantages but the volume traded is thin. After Fed meeting , the bulls would be back in full swing. Bears could have some Happy Hours, but not too long. Added on August 12, 2009, 8:18 amKUALA LUMPUR: Trading is expected to be lacklustre except for a few stocks on Aug 12 as investors' sentiment is expected to be dampened by the overnight fall on Wall Street. On Wall Street, stocks fell after a prominent banking analyst warned the sector's fundamentals have yet to improve, and an unexpectedly large drop in wholesale inventories raised worries about an economic recovery. The drop in US wholesale inventories in June, which was nearly double expectations, showed businesses remained sceptical about a return in demand. At Bursa Malaysia, stocks which could see some trading interest are banks including BCHB and AMMB. BCHB is scheduled to release its second results after market close while AMMB put up a strong performace in its 1Q results ended June 30. AMMB's 1Q earnings rose 27% to RM258.24 million, up from RM202.91 million a year ago, boosted by its strong investment banking business UAC said its net profit rose to RM5.9 million for 2Q ended June 30, 2009 from RM4.9 million a year ago due to stronger demand for its products due to restocking of inventory by customers and also the substantial gains on disposal of shares. The board declared a gross dividend per share of 12 sen. Scomi Marine's 2Q net profit rose 55% to RM22.48 from RM14.52 million a year ago, underpinned by improved margins through better operations management. Gross profit margin for the quarter was wider at 26.2% on lower bunker and docking expenses. NSTP and Media Prima should see some trading interest on expectations that Media Prima would take the newspaper publisher private via a share swap exercise. AmResearch said Media Prima's FY10F's net earnings should improve 20%, resulting in net effect of 5% earnings dilution. "This would also avoid earnings leakages from NSTP as we expect NSTP's earnings rebounding from an estimated RM5 million in FY09F to RM39 million in FY11F. |

QUOTE(jasontoh @ Aug 12 2009, 09:04 AM) Speaking of Mah Sing, you have any idea why? copy pasta too...Added on August 12, 2009, 9:05 amRed charging green....I have a feeling some counters start in red might end in green, while some will be the opposite QUOTE Mah Sing requests for trading suspension KUALA LUMPUR: Trading in MAH SING GROUP BHD [ MAHSING 0.000 0.000 (0.000%) Stock Summary Time & Sales Historical Prices Business Summary Announcement ] shares will be suspended today at the company's request, pending a material announcement. In its Bursa Malaysia filing after market close yesterday, the property developer did not indicate the material development it would be announcing. Market watchers, however, said it could be related to a sizeable acquisition. As at end-March this year, Mah Sing had cash and bank balances of RM26.4 million while its deposits with licensed banks stood at RM127.9 million. With its strong cash hoard, Mah Sing could boost its landbank via acquisitions. For the first three months of financial year 2009, Mah Sing posted a net profit of RM22.6 million on the back of RM150.3 million revenue. Compared to a year earlier, Mah Sing's net profit was only marginally better despite revenue increasing by 6.8%. In the notes accompanying its financial results, Mah Sing said: "The group's healthy balance sheet and low gearing of 0.13 times as at end-March 2009 allows it to plan ahead and acquire good landbank at the right timing." Mah Sing had seen a run-up in its share price in recent weeks. However, its share price closed unchanged at RM1.99 yesterday. On Monday, the stock hit its 52-week high of RM2.02. Since end-July, the stock has gained 15 sen or 8%. souce:http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/business-ne...suspension.html |

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Aug 12 2009, 10:12 PM) In times like this.. a bit of hit and run is better than long hold. :-) I don't believe we're in bull market yet - still in bear rally. Stocks go up.. ride the bull. Stocks go down .. ride the bear. Both still make money. |
