Like that? Both are 1080p...that's 1920x1080...so why the grain and noise and pixelation?

One more thing why did Transformers 2 have black bars?OMG ...i thought it's supposed to fill up all the space shakehead.gif
*
Full HD TV was having a ratio of 1.78:1 while most of the movie having the ration 2.35:1. Thats why got black bar. Some shop do try to pull those 2.35:1 ratio movie to make it full screen, thus sometime there might be pixelation. Grain actually more on the effect intended by the movie director I guess while demo try to show everything in perfect condition.

Actually the ones i saw on the televisions i can't really say its grain-its much worse than grains

Grains are meant to be stationary there right-i mean at a particualy spot where there's grain. But this is a hell lot worse, the grains "moves around"..i really dunno how to explain this. It's always like that when i look at televisions. This is only noticeable when obeserved closely or "pixel peeping"
*
Also besides ar188 reply, I believe the moving around 'grains' was what intended by the movie director/producer. Not all movie have those kind of grain effect.

which one more better Dune Prime 3.0 or Oppo 80 ??
need some advice from u guy...

I think it all depend on what you need. If you need blu-ray and media player in 1, then Dune Prime will be the choice. Also, something that better for me wasn't necessary the same for you. smile.gif

Trying to decide between Pana BD45 or Sony BDPS370.

Can users of these help on how you find the performance of these 2 ?

True that this Pana cannot play pasar malam Uncle Ho's bluray discs ? And this Sony can ?

Thanks.
*
Why thinking of getting a Sony? Sony can play Uncle Ho's blu-ray disc with problem. No idea about Panasonic BD45 tho.. If want to play those Uncle Ho's blu-ray and downloaded movie, then Samsung C5500 was even a better choice

Folks, does Sony BD is the only player pays multi region DVD? I have tons of DVD from various region... hmmm
And what is the midrange BD recommended? Thanks
*
Most if not all blu-ray player sold in Malaysia was multi region for DVD but locked to region A for blu-ray. At least that's what I'm being quoted by the seller for Samsung, Panasonic and Sony at my place.

Today I came across a blu ray player selling for RM399 at HOng Kong Video in Penang the salesman state that the player is region free for BD.

Not sure if its true or not, those interested check it out  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Those with others region locked blu-ray titles should go and try it out. At least prove to the salesman that they're wrong if it can't play. Maybe they don't have a chance to come across those region locked blu-ray titles besides the 'Uncle Ho' blu-ray. smile.gif

Hi all
I have been reading this thread for a while now and i came across you guys talked about the SONY BDP-S380.
I just wanted to know how come the price for this player is not fix at a standard but it could go down to RM299,399,499 and orginal Sony retail price RM699. I had read around and found different location of retailers offers diff price, question is what's with the huge price gap?? Am i missing something?? Please enlighten me. Thanks
*
Quite straight forward. Sony sometime do come with free blu-ray player packaged with their TV. Sometime buyer don't need to the player and shop will buy back at lower price, thus selling price will vary according to the shop 'buy back' price.. RRP always at RM699

Not all titles are cinavia protected.. You just have to search and avoid the cinavia protected titles if you intent to play non original titles..

Sony basic BD player BDP_S1200 at RM199 at Desa Home Theater Low Yat plaza. All new BDP should be cinavia compliant.. Previously you can play most ahem disc due to not all titles cinavia enabled..

How are you sure that your player are cinavia free? Have you tested with copy of blu-ray disc that's embeded with cinavia and didn't encounter any issue?
