Sony basic BD player BDP_S1200 at RM199 at Desa Home Theater Low Yat plaza. All new BDP should be cinavia compliant.. Previously you can play most ahem disc due to not all titles cinavia enabled..

All new BDP (after feb 2012) are cinavia compliant. This protection will only be triggered by copied original product with cinavia protected sound track.

but my previous one was made in june 2013 and cinavia free...why? shocking.gif shocking.gif

Why make you so sure that your player is Cinavia free? As someone pointed out in an earlier post, not all discs are Cinavia protected. You should try playing some new titles from Sony Pictures. The protection only comes it after about 20 minutes of playing the disc where the audio is muted if the disc is Cinavia protected; the video will still play. Or you are not using the original audio. Ironically, from my experience, I find Sony players most forgiving on ahem discs among the popular brands.
*
because i had been using it for more than 20 months and 100% ahem discs are free from cinavia....i have never faced any mute problem, i dont know, maybe it has cinavia and i'm not aware....but,so far i am very satisfied with that player.....my only concerns is IF i go to buy a new one with same brand & same model, is it 100% free from cinavia? i just don't want to spend hundreds ringgit and get a player with cinavia.... maybe i can repair it and not need to buy a new one??

How are you sure that your player are cinavia free? Have you tested with copy of blu-ray disc that's embeded with cinavia and didn't encounter any issue?

All BRANDED BDP are tied up with cinavia due to licensing.

If you really want cinavia free and region free get a china made GENERIC model.  Around rm299 for normal and 399 for 3D, ask around electrical shop. Java version should be up to date there should be no problem with new titles.

yes...tauke told me this is china made brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

Demands for non-cinavia blu-ray was quite high, a friend just sold his last  2x S485 at RM550.

Hi guys, just bought the sam 55h6800 and was scouting for a 3d bluray player and saw this sony s485 model in the shop.

Dig around the this forum and it seems this is an older player, but it is region free and cinavia free too, is this correct. If so still worth to buy this player ?

Thanks and appreciate any advice.

of course worth to buy:
1.cheap
2.cinavia free
3.region free

but this player can't play 3D la~~~ brows.gif
