Just came back from SengQ QB. RM799 for the Philips BDP3000. It's a no frill basic BDP (no DTS-HD onboard decoder can no media playback on removable memory storage). Take your time, lots of units left.

went to norman harvey yesterday to check out the blu-ray players.
there were three models. one which is the BD60 but selling at 1999.
There was another Sharp model selling at 1300. The other one is Samsung.

The sales fellow told me, different player will display the same movie with different qualities in colour even using the same LCD.

is that true ? if its not, shouldnt it be the same ?

different players have different engine, different settings, hence there are difference, but unless u do a side by side comparison, if not u shudnt notice much

bd60 1999 shud be retail pricing, u can get it much cheaper here, try pm-ing htkaki, i remember he told me its at a much cheaper price than that stated

yeah i think if there is, its very difficult to notice the difference anyway. hmm, i think i may just go for PS3 instead.
