3D BD player think needs at least 120mhz LCD to be effective

oops....

thats really a good start,

- upgrade to SE addition

so software updates really solve if not add new features,

wonder ..... if can add the 3D features or not

so guess investing in oppo is really worth the $$$ ....... looks like it wont die on us,

PQ was ok but not really the AQ

the beauty was, it really played bent disc that could not be read on my pioneer DVD and LX-52

haha.... but at times hang a bit with digitised squares on some Ori BD's disc

as for the S765, the AQ and PQ is fantastic, even with DVD's

the truth from the overall PQ, it still loose out to the LX-52, seems funny... when you see you know there a difference,
but overall colour ...the "greens and Blues" colours of S765 is superb..

what to do, bro came back from singapore, pun sudah made arrangement to cart back the OPPO 83, by CNY, HM bising pula, say no warranty, after rosak susah pula, and dont know besides the ori BD's whether can play ahem ones not

well just miss the SACD\,DVD-A and MKV playback thats all... hehe

the BDP-S765 is a recommended buy,

i got it quite expensive from my retailer fren, minus the 7.1channel headset,
with Quantum of Solace and Giraffe HDMI (this must take)

the S765 is very very much better on the AQ, even with dedicated stereo channel,

before take S360 better try out the BDP-S765 ( i know you emphasize very much on audio )

seriously i havent had any comparison with the OPPO 83

for sure i can vouch LX-52 is an extremely outstanding player at that price ... ( there's a difference when you see the overall picture ... not to say freeze frame to compare, it does stand out ... well maybe its the picture depth )

but... hmm.. unfortunately.. i let my bro cart it to singapore, on the 30th Dec 2009, and on the arrangement that he purchase the OPPO 83, pass to my cousin... bring it back before CNY...

but like i say... HM bising... say pay so expensive what if got problem... how??? next time kenot play Ahem BD's how..??

so no BD player how ... figure out a bit ... think maybe settle for a "near cheapo" sony BDP-S360 1st... while waiting for the next gen 3D BD player

and coincidently, the Sony BDP-S765 was launch ...

my dealer fren pass me their demo S360 back to test say no good can bring back...( i'm a fussy guy:D really spend hours testing in his shop )
tested but doesnt stand out, like i say PQ was ok but not so the AQ and the analog stereo...

so i return back and got the BDP-S765 to test... and it caught me by surprise.... it truly outstanding on PQ and especially on the AQ and the Analog stereo...
both the LX-52 and S765 are neutral players but its the colour on the S765 that really shines, but still loose out on the overall picture depth of the LX-52

as a comparison and a verdict and if "decimals" are allowed

LX-52 >>>>>>> 10
BDP 765 >>>>> 9.8

haha

but if really want top notch quality....

go for the Pioneer BDP-LX71

phew!!!! i have done the comparison with the LX-52 via Denon 3808 > 1080p PJ >100" screen

its really night and day

the S765 blacks are more of less same as the LX-52, but its the shades of black that the LX-52 really shines ( maybe it had more adjustments and tweaks)

i'm still playing around and adjusting S765 to the overall picture of the LX-52

beyond reasonable doubt there is a substancial difference maybe its minimal to others ( but to me the picture is just not right )

on the contrary too...bro ar188 is also correct.... to him maybe its not justified by the price due to the the <5% improvement he claims...

like i say individual preference, just like comparing a "v-tech" and non vtech...

for electronics i will always go for the better for the monentary $$$ i could afford..

i got it for RM1600 FOC Quantum of Solace and Girafee HDMI ( extended warranty)
seems to be high-end model tho....made in Japan and gold plated RCA's

try not replace the speakers ( think there are 4 ohms), and already matching
and if you have a Sony LCD go for the 1st choice Sony DBP-S360

btw i think the DAV-850KW doesnt support HDMI in and also lossless ( only analog stereo in )

the LX-52 the colours are natural on my LCD 50"

sometime b4 the KLIAV show i was loaned a Sony BDP-S350 for a week
i tell you the colour was simply fantastic, but when i bought the LX-52 later on, i seriously feel i am missing out some colors....

now when i have the S765 it really proves placebo effect wrong, some of the colours that doesn't show on the pioneer really excels out.

many ppl might not agree but... its true, get same brands for LCD and BD player

if your LCD is SONY get a sont BD player
IF LCD Panasonic get panasonic BD player

go do some research .... and prove me wrong

contrast a little up, brightness down, sat/color to neutral, sharpness little up, and ative Noise Reduction (NR)

maybe that could solve a little of the Grain issue
think the warm/neutral/cool setting could affect also
