err, im using the old yellow atm card for maybank. do they need your IC, as in READABLE like when you were opening the account? because im pretty sure mine jahanam. pfft

YES. IC is needed for account opening and verification using the smart card reader.

if you're a private banking customer it is free or charge
it used to be like that now not sure unless a new private banking customer who has lost his card can confirm this
however, the orange card is no longer issued. the bank is aiming for visa debit for everyone.

Guys my maybank atm+ visa debit card just expired. If I change it will I have to activate everything all over again to buy things online????

if we not wish to use the visa debit function, would it be okay just to replace the faulty ATM card to the black + yellow version instead of maybank cherry. a bit paranoid of linking savings to visa function. i know we can put the limit to zero for visa transaction

Which Maybank ATM card you have?

Yellow card or cherry card?

The cherry card is a debit-cum-ATM card and therefore it has expiry date.
