the sms alert suddenly gone missing, when got new sms come in, no alert at all, have to check the inbox manually only know whether got new sms.. 1st time hving such problems:( anyone can help?

i have the same problem before with my n80. it turns out that my inbox got too many messages(guess it cant handle too much sms).. after i deleted all the messages it's back to normal again
