QUOTE(uzer85 @ Aug 17 2009, 05:07 PM) prasys is rich unker! u might not be able to keep up with him. To be honest I am still using my Pentium D currently. The reason why I want to swap to Core is not because of its performance , its because it works very well with OSX. Thats the only reason. I plan to keep my DDR2 stuff. So most likely , I am going to wait till the prices of old Quad Core falls and stick with socket 775

from that pricelist... ASUS P7P55D DELUXE- RM 850 ASUS P6T X58 - RM840 makes me think whether to go i7 or i5 now with the P6T i can get 16x + 16x when running dual cards instead of 8x + 8x for the P55....

not much of an issue honestly.... coz i tend to budget around 1k for cpu and 1k for mobo+ram...and with the i7 920 its actually doable with value rams. my initial thought of buying P55 was that i was hoping the mobos to be significantly cheaper than x58...but seeing the price now (even though im comparing high-p55 and low-x58)... and lest not forget the MSI X58 is even cheaper at around RM7xx if im not mistaken. n when i5 cpus come out oso ill probably look at the one closest to my budget and not the cheapest one. looks like ill have to reconsider and mebbe wait for i5 cpus to come out and check out some benchies.

I like the slot design. pci-e x2, pci etc. can slot down my current hardware. especially my current sound card.
