How do I sync a controller?

I want to sync a second controller. Read the manual and press the sync button on the box then the button on the controller but didn't work. Tried a couple times and it still wouldn't work.

make sure your controller is on
 do d green lights on d controller n box start circling around after u clicked the button? |

Finally gotten it to work. I had to press the sync button on the controller for 3 seconds.
