QUOTE(sfotsy @ Feb 11 2011, 11:52 AM) My bad experience sometime the mother will feel crazy n kill n eat the baby hamster ! I think that's because the mother is under a HUGE stress and get crazy. That's why it's very important to keep the mother calm all the time until the babies grow until atleast 2 weeks old. Learn everything from online research.

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Feb 11 2011, 07:52 PM) how many of you fed your hamster raw mealworms & how many fed the dead processed ones for hamsters (usually in packets for rm10). coz the other day i wanted to buy mealworms for my hamster, went to the shop but they was out of stock so the guy told to get the dead ones. but i thought fresh was better then he say dont fed the alive ones coz we dont know what those suppliers are fedding to the worms might not be healthy for your hamster unless u know what the worms eats. btw he said there is two types, 1 is superworm & the other one is small in size....which one do you guys fed to your hamster? I saw some breeders feed their hamsters with mealworm to provide them extra protein they need. Next week i plan to buy alive mealworm for RM 1 to feed them once few days.

QUOTE(Ohiki @ Feb 14 2011, 01:02 PM) Atleast you can find it and recycle lol... mine they hide it under the bedding.. sometimes expose only I saw it... Added on February 15, 2011, 8:56 amTo All who had hamster give birth before..... What are the signs that a hamster is pregnant ? My female hamster she push most of the wood shavings towards the house like a small mount... inside got two holes she dig up like bird nest... Did she eat alot lately? Did she gain weight alot too? Did she behave aggressively towards her mate or you? Is she making nest? If answer is yes, then most probably she is pregnant. But sometime you won't realize she is pregnant until she give birth. That happened to me.

Haha, i just traded 1 male 1 female WW hamsters with garrettng. Don't dare to adopt anymore, but willing to trade or sell only. His hamsters are just about 3 weeks, quite thin... Traded with my 2 months 1 week old 1 male 1 female. Looks like i need to feed them alot to make them healthy again. Btw, can i breed WW Sapphire with Agouti? Ya, now feeding them with my Super Premium foods. Looks like they like it alot! Wait until they're growing a little big then will start to feed them with fresh vege and mealworms. I'm sure the guy i traded will treat my hammies fine, will frequently ask him for updates. Btw guys, do you think my hamsters Agouti or Sapphire? http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1744335&hl=

QUOTE(mrtresynth @ Mar 25 2011, 12:18 PM) Well,i took my hamster to vet clinic last time. Cost me around RM 30+ (if i'm not mistaken) just for antibiotic and vitamin. Went to some clinic, they don't even offer vet service for hamsters. I would recommend to go for vet if you think it's really serious. Or else, wait for few days, see if the sickness still going on or not. They pretty much heal themselves if it's not fatal sickness.

Ya,usually i will observe around the cage just in case the mother forgot her babies left somewhere else.
So i will use small cardboard to push the babies to open air so that the mother will notice the babies or lead the mother to the babies. Once the mother spotted the babies, she will straight away take them to the safe place.
