U shld have bring her to vets asap rather than observe for a week and see how it goes A week is enough for most of the disease to kill ur pets |

I know he's gonna leave someday.. but of old age, & not sickness. u planning to get a new one? Wanna concentrate on exotic pets, dun wanna commit into hamster le cause once they die i ll feel damm sad QUOTE(speedhunter @ Jan 31 2010, 01:11 AM) i feel sorry for your button.. I give her the best i canyour hammy sure looks healthy, what do u gave her? is that an aquarium glass tank? it sure looks nice, i'm so jealous with u.. Before this i keep her in a really small carrier cage for few months before realize that they need bigger tank... I used to keep her in a wrong way until i found lyn hamster thread and slowly upgrading her lifestyle with bigger tank, bigger wheel, better food and so on... If u mean food im feeding her prestige It's indeed a aquarium, looks nice but ventilation bad |

QUOTE(fyire @ Feb 1 2010, 02:59 PM) Hamster tumor update: My rat have undergo a tumor surgery too few months ago, which vet did u went to? Today's the 8th visit to the vet, 10 days after the surgery to remove the tumor from the right cheek. She's getting very itchy fingers/paws, and had scratched off all the scabs. Quite a big scare there, as the peeling off of the scab like that caused some bleeding as well, but the surgery wound is already closed. Just some raw skin exposed still where the scab was scratched off. The newer lump under the chin that had been slowly growing in size after the surgery shrunk down too, which is an indication that its filled with puss rather than being a new growth. Needless to say, there's another wound over there after she had scratched off the scab there too, but the puss had drained out. All that was done at the vet today was just basic cleanup of the wound, of which we'll continue to do on our on on a daily basis till the skin there has healed properly. She's started eating solid foods again, but will continue to provide the nutrie smoothie mix. Mixing in some sugar glider protein supplement into the food as well to help her gain weight again. Glad to see it getting better Anw, pic of my dead Button Warning: Graphic images » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Really sad to see her dying in such horrible way I tried everything i could to save her, bringing her to vets frequently Last time i plan to make taxidermy after she died because she have very unique color (Not a solid cinamon in case u wandering) but she's almost bald when she died |

According to my vets, she is fine with no other symptom except for a small tumor on ears which can be treat easily with iodin
It's either infection or it's mites but she cant conclude yet because she can't take a skin sample to test cause hamster are too small At the end she gave her some jab to help treat the infection and see if it improvise or not I suppose to get her for the 2nd dose today but she passed away, oh well... |

QUOTE(silvermancer @ Feb 5 2010, 02:55 PM) my baby yuki is eating well and all but i have no idea why she seems to be getting thinner and thinner. its scary. she is now undergoing treatment for her urinary tract infection. but doc and i dont think thats the reason for her weight loss as the last time when she had urinary tract infection, she still l ook chubby as compared to now. Last time my Button is losing weight also, my vets gave me a can of nutrition food and asked me to feed it twice a day for 2week and she regain her weight in no timeand another thing..she wont change back to her normal coat. she's in winter coat since november last year!! and now she keeps on lying on top of cooling places to chill herself...im kind aworried taht she might get a heat stroke or smtg over cny. uggghhh~~~ Perhaps u can ask ur vets for it QUOTE(atok194 @ Feb 5 2010, 03:27 PM) Seriously dude, did u read the 1st page or done any research? What kind of bedding u are using? U feeding them with bread??? And what brand of staple food u use? I see a lot of unhealthy kauci in ur pic No offence really, but pity ur hamster... QUOTE i use celect breeder. Breeder celect O_O soaked bread for the babies(if im not mistaken.lalalulububles also feeding the babies with the bread and i do remove the leftover bread after they enjoy it.) i am using Mr.Harry something..its the best in my town.. actually the mother use the kuaci's shell as the bed for their child..the mother store a lot of kuaci's shell in the house and i dont know it untill the babies were born..so..i put a table cloth and the mother make new bed for their child...i do research and i know that kuaci are bad for hamster.so i give them as treat.i just give them like a pinch per week.they are not chewer..i guess i need to learn more.. It looks like some kind of sand in my monitor display Anw, take out the clothes, use tissue instead, it's safer Bout the bread, im not sure if i mixed up with other pets but i once read someone expert saying it will expand in their stomach when contacted with water or something, causing impaction (Not very sure bout it) Did some quick google just now but seems like it's safe for hamster This post has been edited by RyoKenzaki: Feb 5 2010, 04:57 PM |

I've seen ppl using sand as bedding so it wont surprise me
About the clothes, in case the hamster ingested it, tissue can be dissolve and digested easily without problem, so it's safer and waaay cheaper to use it compare to clothes |
