QUOTE(yoosh @ May 24 2011, 08:22 PM) hi.. i'm new here.. i just bough winterwhite golden to my sister... about 3 days now, but today the right eye is swollen and watery... i gave him the normal hamster food found in many pet store.. Hi there,do vet take hamster?? sorry, this is my 1st time having hamster... before this i just got a cat and fishes.. I think your hamster is called Winter Gold or Pudding. I think it's best to take your hamster to vet. Some vet don't treat hamsters, so its best for you to ask around. |

QUOTE(memphis @ Jun 3 2011, 10:09 PM) hellow....ive recently adopted a hamster...i think its a dwarf hammie...but im not so sure...will put up pics of 'it' (not sure he or she) soon... Some of them takes time to get used with the new environment before they start their normal routine.im just wondering...how much water should hamsters consume dailly?? coz i think mine drinks sooo little...is it due to the water dispenser??? and y does my hammie not like fresh veggies??? i tried giving carrots, broccoli and cucumber...so far non interests it at all...it'll just end up getting dry (i chuck it away at the end of the day).... i have had experience with hamsters before (syrian) and he gobbles up fresh veggies as soon as i put it in... any ideas??? How long you have adopted him/her? |

QUOTE(*dReaM FaNtaSy* @ Jun 4 2011, 12:47 PM) post before and after coat change can a? wanna see the differences between winter coat and prior to that Sorry for the picture quality. The winter coat is not so obvious over here. These 2 are brothers, staying together in a box. The box i rarely open as i'm very busy lately. So the box is quite dark all the time. If you notice, the right side fur is slowly changing into winter coat. This post has been edited by cyberheross: Jun 4 2011, 02:23 PM |

QUOTE(pieplushie @ Jun 4 2011, 05:36 PM) QUOTE(pandera999 @ Jun 4 2011, 06:12 PM) Indeed they are very fat, very lazy too. The wheel i bought them, they rarely use it to exercise. Instead, they sleep inside it. Sometime need to put them inside the exercise ball to force them to run around. |

QUOTE(Skiddy_15 @ Jun 12 2011, 01:46 AM) Thanks! QUOTE(*dReaM FaNtaSy* @ Jun 12 2011, 07:56 AM) can i ask what makes ww change coat? Nope, it's not about the weather.i read its when winter cold weather triggers them to change coat but malaysia no winter wo so why did it change its coat? aircond too long? Its about the amount of light they are exposed to. I don't even have aircond in my room, just normal table fan. It's because he's staying in the box, and it's quite dark inside for most of the time. And winter season is coming, so thats why he changed to winter coat. Most of them change to winter coat at around September. |

QUOTE(noruddin @ Jun 13 2011, 07:52 PM) so, WW can change coat according to temperature and time exposed to light(according to Cyberheroess)...but how long it takes to change?..1 day?1 week?... As long as its not so hot, and less time exposed to light, they will change. But its all up to them, please don't force them to change into winter coat. I had 2 of them inside the box, but only one of them change. I got total of 8 WW hamsters right now, but only ONE of them changed into winter coat. And i got no intention to make them change as well. Just let them be themselves. |

Most probably is pregnant.
You won't notice they are pregnant until the last few days before they give birth. Had a lot of experience on that. |

Well, i breed the remaining mealworms after feed all my hamsters.
They will die eventually after a certain period, then after awhile you will get new mealworms. |
