Am i right to say that for a non-bumi (Chinese/India/etc), we can invest in all other Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad's fund except for the ones listed above?

What i saw from their funds, the returns is around 6-7 cents per RM1? Which is like 6-7%?? Better than FD right... hmm.gif

Particularly looking at the ASM funds. Any opinions/advice on this fund? Or recommendations are welcomed... icon_rolleyes.gif

Also, registration/opening of new account with ASNB can only be done at their office huh? Post office/banks are for top-ups only?

of cource, better than FD, becuse this is an investment, not saving.

not all the fund fix rate at rm1.00, some flactuate too and all the funds returns not guarantee as per stated in prospectus.

if the fund with fix rate, no affect for the capital, if flacutate, hv to follow the NAV.

so far all the funds manange by PNB, good.

By the way, are savings in amanah saham protected by govt like our savings in banks?

amanah saham is ivestment, NOT the saving. and no protected, u can read it in prospectus.

Thereby, i believe EPF will be capital protected due to the direct protection from the gov, i am guessing, right?

I saw one book stating about the laws of EPF in the library..

not sure abt the protection, but min guarantee div is 2.5%.

i ask here because there are many in this thread who are in the know or working for these agent themselves
this should save my indian friends from a trip all the way to kaunter utama at PNB
plus this is not a daily volatility as units are sold and bought, but of a case where a lot of allocations still available when we last checked
likewise i would also be happy to share any news on availability

if you do not have such information, please do not ask us to check with agent banks
agent banks, including maybank's branch managers are known to lie about the availability to prevent funds from my their accounts being withdrawn to fund PNB accounts. one of the them whom i could quote for example would be the branch manager for maybank cyberjaya.

why so hassle? there are many private unit trust whcih able to give better than PNB products.

is PNB products risk free? not at all like private too.

yeah i know you asked with good concern and intention
we can discuss about this if i asked you which would be the best way to invest money
you are inside the PNB funds thread and we are talking about getting AS1M (which means decision has already been made)
if i had asked you about comparing, then of course i could debunk your statements wrong anytime based on my needs but then that is beyond the purpose of this thread.

to me ASW2020/AS1M is worth getting stuck in the jam, paying for parking and driving in the hot sun and waiting at the counter IF there are units available.
too bad mine maxed out already. so wanna help friends.

ok noted, my mistake. doh.gif

for AS1M, if u cant buy the available units. make complaint to PNB.

So they are categorized as bond funds right? Hmmm
*
no, its equity since the allocation is trade in stock mamrket not buying the direct bonds.

they maintain to fix price to make sure the capital not lost. if the price is flactuate, investors may not buy those products
