i managed to get units for RM5k in april last yr.

i understand divident was paid out recently- can someone please explain if it means that the dividend would merely be thr to be collected or it would be re-invested as additional units?

if the latter- how would it work since there is no units left for non-bumis.

Exactly which fund are you referring to ? ASM ? ASW2020 or ASB ? Anyway, it would be reinvested as additional units.

ASM.

Thanks!

Btw, I was made to understand that dividend is paid out in Jan- but the teller informed me it is only in April. I reckon that dividend is annouced in January and payout in April? Why do ppl rush to update in Jan then? or is this a different fund altogether?

If ASM's dividend is anything less than 6.50%, then it's time to consider sending all the money out of this country. No point putting in PNB anymore.

ASM was declaring 6.25% while EPF is declaring 4.5%, this year EPF dividend is 5.65% so ASM shd do better

Now that its declared to be 6.3% ... hmmm..

I read a blog on AS1M recently which said that:-

(a) the price of a unit is only fixed at RM1 during the promo/initial period and thereafter the price would be according to market; &

(b) the charge for transaction of can be imposed after the promo/initial period.

Can anyone confirm this?

I can understand (b) being true as the website also states under Caj Jualan : "Walaubagaimanapun, Pengurus mempunyai budibicara untuk mengenakan caj jualan sehingga 1% daripada nilai pelaburan selepas tempoh tersebut."

Does this mean that when i invest RM1000, the bank will invest only RM9990 (with RM10- being the sales charge)? Or is the 1% at the point when i redeem? The website says caj jualan balik as "tiada"..

thanks.

Added on May 11, 2010, 11:13 amWith this Sukuk rm3bil comes into the picture, i think AS1M unsold quota will not be opened, at least until the rm3bil sukuk 1Malaysia finished subscribed

do u think that ppl might sell AS1M and put into sukuk instead.. or that they will hold till at least 1st yr dividend is declared for AS1M risking that sukuk may be sold out by then and may get less than 5%?

i reckon the posts would get more interesting after AS1M makes its first dividend announcement come end of Sept..

a lot were expecting the non-chi quota to be opened up.. perhaps gov would do so after announcing a higher than expected dividend to get more ppl to purchase tongue.gif

doesnt the financial year end on 30th sept for AS1M?

think it would be announced a couple of days before the financial year end.

maybe about 6++ % dividend since its the maiden dividend declaration?

considering that lots of blogspots etc were saying that this would only give a return of 4-5%.. i guess a 6.38sen per unit aitn too shabby. that said.. this is the maiden declaration so would hv been nicer if much higher smile.gif

now to hope that the bumi/ind quota is opened up..

when is was launhced, think there was a limitation imposed as to the amount of units a person can purchased. has that been waived or suspended as the sales have been slow at some point?
